These days you are expected to have this shitty 'social media of professionals' if you want to make it in a career. Graduate students, that's me for example are told to make a profile. Connect with your college classmates, connect with college lecturers or work mates or your boss etc. Fuck off you! I don't want to join! no no no you gotta make one because these fucking employers always wants to know everything about you. Why can't we have a world where work and personal life is separated. Also, people on Linkedin just seems all fake. The moment you go there, they're all transformed into like business people selling themselves. This is where I studied, this is my work experience, I'm proficient in blah blah.

I bet it's just a tool for mass surveillance.

For example you pick someone's opinion MHO and s/he writes "thank you!!" I guess s/he may write only "thank you" or add a smiley instead of !, if s/he really wants to add something at the end of his/her sentence or you write " thanks :) " and someone replies "you're welcome!" I think If I use smiley, replying with smiley kinder, what does meaning of using ! ? Is that for being cold?

If you put the Turkish word "Kaçlısın" into Google Translate it tells you it means "How fast you" in English.

but people on Quora who are native speakers of Turkish and also speak fluent English say that "Kaçlısın" actually means "Which year were you born" in English.
