Most people (hopefully) know how to cook and don't need instructions on how to boil an egg or fry a steak. Similarly, we've all got recipes we've done so many times they're etched into memory or ones so flexible they're hard to get wrong.

But how often do you follow brand new recipe from a book or website?

In the UK, today is known as "The glorious 12th" to mark the start of grouse shooting season. That said it's rare to see grouse in mainstream shops and unless you have a traditional butcher or farmers market nearby they can be hard to source. You can get both red and black grouse.

Ok this ones just for fun. I've been baking bread today. It's a whopping big sourdough loaf with a close crumb structure and a crusty crust but I've chucked in a special ingredient.

But what do you think is the secret ingredient? It's one of the poll.

It often surprises me that people will go to great lengths to make the perfect burger patty then slap on the cheapest cheese they can find.
So what cheese do you use? I like blue cheese best.
