28F, I’m leaning towards bad luck. I’m very introverted & not the friendliest but I don’t think I’m intimidating. I’m told I’m cute/attractive, it’s not like a runway model & guys just never approach me. I’m told guys look at me but they never do anything about it & I’m too shy. I know there’s nothing wrong with me, most women seem to get guys so easily. That’s why I’ve been on and off the apps since I was maybe 18, getting matches have never been a prob. Convo always fades, ghosting, lack of interest (goes both ways) & some guys who are crazy. I’ve tried a lot of them, usually I stick with Hinge. It’s always a pattern of the guys I want who don’t want me back & the ones that want me I don’t like back. For maybe the past year I’ve become less and less interested, I reply to matches/msgs every couple of days? A few people have said maybe I’m asexual (haven’t had sex or masturbated in years), assume I’m gay or I’m unsure of what I want. Maybe they’re all wrong & simply I haven’t found the right person?

Use me for reference even though I’m technically obese, you get the picture. I lift heavy at least 3 days a week and I love my carbs. I want to live a long life, but I struggle making healthy choices food wise. I also over compensate in how I dress to feel better about myself💀

I come from a conservative community, so I hear a lot of complaints about how new generations of men aren't "manly enough" for this reason or that reason. People saying Harry Styles isn't a man because he wears a dress, or you're not manly if you paint your nails or things like that. Wouldn't it be better to assume, for your sake and for theirs, that masculinity changes as time goes on?

It was only recently brought to my attention that every generation of men has complained about the new generation of men, going all the way back to the time of Ancient Rome when men complained that men weren't manly enough compared to the generation before them. The person presenting it gave this idea of "We can never meet the standards of masculinity if they always come from the past" so I'm curious. Do you ever feel like you can never meet those manly standards?

I just don’t feel like trying anymore. I’ve tried for so long because I know we both love each other a lot but maybe I should just accept our differences and how it’s not going to work in the long run. Yes I do communicate and it’s always the same cycle all over again. He does have good qualities too but it’s going to be too much for you guys to read haha but these are things that bother me. I feel so alone in this relationship

- He doesn’t have any goals in life and make 30k a year. I’m in nursing school and working my ass off. He keeps telling me he would go back to school but always make up excuses. (We have a 7 year age gap, I’d expect him to be somewhere at his age)
- We don’t have similar interests in hobbies. I workout, enjoy sightseeing, and exploring new places. He loves cornhole and chilling and drinking at home with family
- I’m clingy and want to spend more time with him while he seems okay to spend less time together (see each other once a week, even when I’m on break) (We live 15 minutes away)
- I’m always craving for more intimacy than him
- I’m begging for the bare minimum like asking for flowers and only receiving it once throughout our relationship

Hey, so I met a guy around 7 yr ago while I was working in a restaurant, he asked for my number &then a few weeks later I got a train to see him for the weekend. We got on really really well but I didn’t sleep with him as wernt officially dating, we spoke for months after but I ended up going travelling& when I got back he had a girlfriend, I ended up in a 3 year relationship but then we both somehow ended up single at the same time, he contacted me (as must have seen I deleted all photos of ex) we went on a date and the date was just amazing I can’t explain the butterfly feeling he gives me. Still didn’t sleep with him as I’m old fashioned and we weren’t exclusive.. anyways after the date I got back with my ex and we didn’t speak. A year later I’m single & he gets in touch asking if I’m okay and randomly turned up at my house with flowers to cheer me up. we end up talking for a few weeks and he’s asking me why I never make effort to talk to him and why he’s always chasing me (he’s a basketball player so I’m kind of wary that he’s talking to loads of other girls & I’m a bit shy I’m nowhere near as hot) by the way we still haven’t had sex but just having a really nice connection. Again he goes radio Silent on me.. so fast forward a few months and he rings me drunk saying I’m the only person he’s ever loved and he’s so nervous around me etc.. I thought I would make more effort with him so I start finally messaging first and stuff and we plan to have a night away and we talk about having sex & it gets quiet passionate. then again he goes radio silent. so a month goes by & after hearing nothing from him he pops up merry Christmas I love you & one day your going to be my wife which is random as hell since he practically ghosted me twice this year? Then after talking every night on the phone he’s gone silent again? am I reading this all wrong does he even like me or what? or am I just not making enough effort? & no he doesn’t have a wife or a girlfriend I know his family

I read it as a let down which when he commented he'd gone out with simple minded overly attractive cheap & sleazy women - one he even called a horror story himself - before is a rather shitty insult.

The thing is, is we had engaging interesting conversation before the date. And I am not unattractive - that is something many people have said. Yes I put on some weight due to Covid but I blatantly told the guy on our date I'm working to loose it, even spending 3 hours each time at gym various times in the week.

I also wanted to share X how I’ve been feeling on a different level. I am enjoying getting to know you, what brings you happiness, what drives you and how you add happiness in to the world of others. You are a remarkable person.

I owe it to you and myself to share I’m not certain I feel connected across all levels in regards to compatibility.

These are never comfortable moments to share with someone but I have to communicate this to you and be transparent on where I’m at. I hope you can appreciate this honesty as I would never want to be hurtful by not sharing these feelings.

So I’m having a difficult time deciding what to wear for an event I have coming up. It’s the kind of event where people get dressed up and drink all night, etc. it’s a huge thing where I live!

I know I want to wear a dress or playsuit, or maybe a jumpsuit if I find the right one. Which of these options is best? Or should I keep looking?

I was watching a YouTube podcast reacting to the Jubilee video Conservative Parents vs Liberal Teachers so this question is inspired by that.

I am somebody who wants to go into teaching so here is my view on politics in the classroom:

At a primary school level (5-11) no. Children at this stage in their lives are just learning basic skills like reading, writing, do simple Maths they're simply not mature enough to be having political discussions in the classroom.

At a secondary school level, it depends. For example, there's classes where politics should be irrelevant like Maths and Science. But then there's certain classes where politics needs to be discussed like Sociology and History for example because politics links to the subject. However, I think it is completely wrong for teachers to tell students who to vote for, ridicule students for having certain political beliefs, or stereotype a whole group of people based on who they vote for. And no teacher, should be advocating for their preferred political candidate in the classroom. It is just not appropriate, irrelevant and can alienate students who hold opposing political beliefs.

What are your thoughts on this matter?
