Search Results: extra attention to a girl he likes

I don't know if this guy (who I like) has a crush on me as well or is just playing around. I say that because he is the more confident and I guess "odd" type and doesn't seem fazed to be affectionate with me (he's always touching in some way, tickling me, putting his coat over me in a playful way, and just a few days ago he put his arm around me while we were sitting down) but I'm not sure if he's doing it just to play around or if he's trying to show he likes me.

In terms of other girls, me and my best friend are probably the few girls he's quite good friends with and he also is a bit touchy with her as well but not to the extent that he is with me (no arm around the shoulder for example), which means I don't really have a guideline for if he acts like this with every girl or just me. He also calls me cute a lot but then says I'm not hot though (in a teasing way) and a couple days ago when we were sitting together his best friend said he "shipped us" (though we would make a cute couple), after he put his arm around me and he didn't really seem against that idea. Another one of our mutual guy friends said in my ear at that time that "he's hitting on you so intensely but passively".

It also seems like he wants my attention a lot but I'm not to sure if I'm just imagining it. I'm not sure if he knows I like him but I feel that if he did he might be doing all this to play around? For extra context, we are in secondary school. Any tips for how to proceed with this?
