I don't trust mainstream media, it has a heavy liberal bias (maybe because it's owned by the same groups). Taking it into account, I wouldn't buy a used car from them.

I'm 17 and I'm proud to be British. However, I feel that patriotism is very rare for my age group. In fact, only one of my mates is like me in that he is proud of being from Britain. We think that unskilled immigration should be heavily capped and the skilled immigration cap should be increased. And no, we aren't racist and don't go around making racist jokes or remarks either in public or privately because that's a whole different, disgusting kettle of fish

In education, we aren't really taught British tradition or history and patriotism isn't encouraged (unlike how I imagine education to be in somewhere like the USA). I've met people who are even ashamed to call themselves English which I find pathetic. People and local councils here give into demands by foreigners to remove the St George's flag and even war memorials because it 'offends them' and that utterly disgusts me. Particularly because, unbeknown to them, they are the racist ones

I heard of a story recently where an Indian Sikh had a note posted through his letterbox by another Indian whom he didn't know to take down the English flag he hangs outside his business in support of England in the world cup. His reply: "It only makes me want to fly the flag even more" - good on him. And yes sure, our Empire may have a shady history, but I am still very proud of what it achieved
