I'm now 24 and my older brother is 27. He was the last person I invited to my wedding.

I had an issue with him 5 years ago. I caught my then previous girlfriend (now ex girlfriend obviously) cheating with him. She was dumped and I proceeded to punching the heck out of him. I didn't speak to him for nearly a year while he was doing everything possible to make it up for it.
I'm now 24 and he's 22.

We're ok by now (only because he's my brother... we still wouldn't be speaking if he were just a friend) but I didn't introduce him to my now fiance till much later on. Once in a while, he continues apologizing, stating he wouldn't ever do anything like that again. According to others, he deeply regrets what he did back then and they all think he can be trusted by now.

Part of me wants to trust him again but another part of me still flashes back to that horrible scene. It wasn't a one time drunken incident but them doing it behind my back for several months.

I'm sick and tired of her giving me speeches about going out more and being more open. She was mad at me for not going to my senior prom but she fails to realize that I have no friends and no date so why would I go to watch everyone practically fuck each other while I stand in the corner. I was more than happy to go to the movies with an acquaintance (better than being alone in my bed accomplishing nothing for once). Even the most basic social things I can't do. I can't go to the park alone because people (especially mothers and their kids) would thing I'm some creep standing around since I have no close friends to go out with. She refuses to believe that people don't treat me with respect because when she's around everyone is nice to her but when I'm alone people give me strange looks or straight up have attitude with me. She keeps on saying that I need to smile more and open up but she doesn't realize that that only applies to conventionally attractive people who aren't labelled weirdos or creeps before they even speak. Why can't she see things from my perspective? I can't shake the feeling that she's disappointed in me considering the fact that all my older brothers and sisters are successful or at least didn't have issues with having no friends.
