Be honest, when you come across someone who is confident do you stay or walk away? Does it intimidate you? If someone is attractive and they’re just overall confident meaning they believe in themselves, they never look down on themselves, they’re nice to others and usually smiling, etc, does that make you wanna hang out with them or walk away from them cause they’re intimidating?
Im having a hard time distinguishing if this is my case. My friend just confirmed I’m attractive and my personality is great so I’m intimidating. I was like wow this is something I’ve been questioning especially lately because I wonder why people don’t approach me. I’m nice, yes I’m attractive, but I’m nice and friendly, when you meet me I’m positive and have manners, I’m funny and love to laugh, so I’m like wth is the problem? Am I “perfect” in their eyes and they just can’t hang out with someone like that? I understand if I did something wrong or I had a mean personality, but I know none of that is true. Even though I’m nice, I’ll still stand up for myself and maybe it comes off as bitchy but that’s when you asked for it. Other than that, I’m friendly.

I usually ride the train with my crush after class and we would just talk about whatever. Two weeks ago, I was going to tell him I liked him, but I chickened out and told him that a "girl in our class" liked him. He asked me who, and I just told him to figure out on his own.

He brought this up again earlier this week and started going down a list of girls that excluded me. I told him that I would tell him who it is once we reach his stop. At his stop, I confessed. He just stared at me for moment. I panicked and rambled on about how obvious it was. When I was done, he said okay. We said bye and he left.

Next day - awkward. We avoided each other. Around lunch, I avoided making eye contact or speaking directly to him. When I was telling my friend a story, he chimed in and said "oh, I remembered you told me that story". That actually eased the awkwardness a bit.

I couldn't stop crying later that night, though. My friend doesn't believe he's not interested in me. She said that if he wasn't, he would've said something. She also said that he's really shy and probably didn't know how to react. (He is quite shy and 75% of the time, he would wait for me to approach). I, on the other hand, believe that he is politely turning me down. I messaged him anyways. We talked about an exam, then I apologized for freaking him out on the train and he said no worries then went back to talking about class. I brought up this one girl who he used to have a crush on and told him that she's single now, and he completely ignored that and continued talking about studying. At that point, I was not in the mood to talk, so I ended it there.

We took the train yesterday and talked like normal. I texted him later and we chatted. He would reply immediately like usual, but then after a while, he started giving one word answers (yes, lol, nice) and using emojis (which is unusual for him). I was going to ask him to be honest about how he felt, but I decided to end the conversation there.
