So my boyfriend and I were walking around a shop and out of the blue he mentions how I should get a coloured streak on the side of my hair. I said I like my hair colour the way it is. Then he comes back with a fake coloured hair piece and puts it against my hair to see what it would look like, he said it would suit me. I said I don't like it and I'm happy with myself the way I am, I love me the way I am to which he responded that he loves me the way I am too. So why then would he try to change something about me cause I get the feeling that is what he was trying to do. I started thinking that maybe an ex girlfriend might have had something like this and maybe he was trying to get me to look similar but then maybe that's me being silly.

At my high school in particular, the dress code was enforced like it was hammered into the walls by the gods themselves. If you came to school without a belt, with a backpack that wasn't clear or mesh, or a skirt or shorts that were even a hair above the knees, or a dozen other infractions, you had two options: 1) find the appropriate item to change into immediately or 2) they would call your parents and either have them bring it or you'd be sent home. Barring the inability of your parents to interrupt their work day to come get you/bring an item, you'd be "held" in the library all day. In either instance, it was also an automatic detention. Rack 5 of these up, and you are put on suspension. Another, after that you're kicked out.

I've always felt that sending a kid home for a uniform violation was extreme because you are hurting that kid. He or she is missing out on an entire days worth of education because... what, they couldn't find a belt that morning? Clothing does not help educate a child or young adult or stop the evils of the world. You can be a genius in sweat pants and a tank top and still commit crime in a three piece suit.
