I got the idea while trying to read a story about the bass guitar-playing kid who used to be a girl in the movie "School of Rock." Now this person is gender fluid. Notice how confusing a simple story about post-movie bullying suddenly becomes:

To say it affected them would be like picking up a dry paper towel and gently wiping a dirty table. The backlash broke them, sending Reyes on a spiral that would frighten any parent to their bones. Drugs, alcohol, self-harm, and various addictions took over their life.
