Been reading a bunch of neurological studies. Apparently our brain makes decisions for us and then convinces us we made them. Weird.

There’s already proof our brain tricks us by constructing “narratives” so that we understand reality rather than experiencing just “plain old reality”.

This is a classic test. Focus on the black dot below and decide whether the moving object is going in a straight line or curved lined.

It’s moving in a straight line but focusing on the black dot makes it look curved. Classic optical illusion.

So how else could our brains be tricking us? If they’re tricking us, do we really have free will?
