Search Results: getting into college

My mom, sister, aunt, and other family members wants me to go to college to study a field of whatever I’m interested in and get a job with it. And they keep telling me they want me to make a lot of money and have a family and etc... as the usual goes.

And some of my old classmates and friends post stuff online like on instagram getting into relationships, having families, traveling the world and high paying jobs. But I don’t want any of that.

All I want to do is get a regular job at a retail store or something and work for a paycheck, get a house and it have to worry about much. I’m not really interested in becoming rich. Because I don’t think what people do really matters in life.

Because look at this (average human life expectancy is 70-80). And right now I’m 22 ( so this is how I look at it). I lived for 20 years; and that went by fast for me. 20 years 2 more times I will be 60 and 3 more times I will be 80, if I ever live that long. That means soon I will be old and start my dying process of the issues I have now don’t kill me before I get up in age.

so that’s how I view life, and I don’t get why people are pressuring me.

So long title but basically my family want me to go back into helping in volunteering and I said that it isn't mandatory, there is a reason it is Volunteer work, but it is also true I need the hours as work experience for college.

So I said that it wasn't that I didn't want to help them but because I wanted to stay safe and not interact with people outside of the house.

Now, I am completely uncomfortable with the way they have just set me up and told me I am going there next week, but I am also uncomfortable because we need photo evidence for our work... So who is gonna take the photos when we can't give each other our phones to use AND what do I do if I need help on certain parts, AND what do they do if I have a seizure on site, they can't go up to me past 2 metres, right? What would happen?

So there is a lot going on inside my head right now and it has me rather stressed, I just wanted to unwind on here and see what everyone else think I should do, my parents said that if I was really against it by next week then they can't force me to go, I still have a say in it but I am extremely conflicted between helping the environment and getting hours and keeping safe and preventing catching this incurable illness.

The upside of just staying indoors and staying safe feels like it seriously outweighs the pros of helping at some job that I am not even getting any income from.

For a person who by nature has Paranoia, this event is causing a lot of stress...
