Most of us have a well-defined idea of what constitutes our perfect match. I would describe my perfect match as age 55-65, very intelligent, educated (at least a four year college degree,) well mannered and has enough sophistication to attend a symphony concert, petite, cute face, well proportioned (no huge boobs or big behind!,) Christian, tends towards conservative beliefs, no drug use or alcohol abuse. The age range has increased over the years but the other qualities have been very consistent.

How often have I dated someone who matches all of those criteria? Of all the sexual partners I have had in 45 years, only one matched all of those criteria. Some of the others were close but most did not meet at least two or three criteria. Some were not very intelligent or well educated, some were not petite, did not have a cute face, some were not Christian, and a few were alcoholic or drug abusers (in the remote past.)

I consider a few of them to be mistakes, but not because they did not meet those criteria. The non-Christian liberal with a not very cute face was a mistake but not because of those qualities. The pudgy girl with the AA degree and big boobs didn't work, but we didn't break up because she was pudgy, lacked a four year degree, and we certainly didn't break up because of her boobs.

Experience has taught me that having a list of desirable qualities is understandable but we should always be open to dating someone who is not "our type." Have you ever been attracted to someone who is not your type? Did you date them? How did it work out?

Here I'm talking of physical appearance. Although beauty is in the eye of the beholder, most people; especially in the same culture with the same beauty standards often have the same idea on what's beautiful. An age gap can also be considered out of the league although they're in theory equal beautiful when they were young, because young people tends to look better than old people. My Opinion:
I'm 6/10 and I prefer dating people above my league in terms of looks because I'm a very visual person. They should be at least 7/10, but I prefer above 8/10.

My friend's straight friend who mostly are into men prefer also dating someone above her league. Same as me; 7/10+. It's because of she has very high standards in men and she doesn't find many men handsome enough. She said if she ever dated a girl, she could date someone within her own league (6/10) and slightly below (5,6/10). She thinks women; even the average ones tends to be more physical attractive and beautiful than men in general speaking. A 5,6/10 woman scores higher than a 5,6/10 man.

Ok so I've been talking to this girl for ages now and I've finally asked her out on a date which she said yes to but the complication is that I'm bisexual! I've accepted that I'm bisexual after my ex kept telling that she thought I was so I gave it a go when she left me and I really enjoyed it.

Yes I'm both physically and sexually attracted to guys but more so to girls. I've only told two people that I'm bisexual and dont know if I should tell this girl I'm taking out on a date or not and if so when should I tell her?
