I'm dating a girl (I've been in love with her for a while) and we've only been technically dating for a few weeks. Been on like four dates but we've known each other for a year now. So I didn't want to do too much for Valentine's Day since we're a relatively new couple.

So I went to local flower shop and spent a while customizing a small flower arrangement with the owner (I'm not exactly great with flowers haha). Nothing huge. And then I went online and found someone on Etsy who can make stuffed bears with anyone's name on it. (shoutout to SouthernMissBows there. Check her out! Her work is amazing!) So I got a small ~5 inch white stuffed bear with her name on it.

Now I wasn't sure if that was good. I thought it was and frankly, I didn't nor could I afford like anything too extravagant. This is my and her first Valentine's Day period and I was afraid of doing the cliche "flowers and chocolate" thing. I like making things special and unique. For instance, for Christmas, I got her an autograph of her favorite author. And for her birthday I drew her something (I'm an artist). I didn't know if this was too generic so I got the name on the bear. I thought that was good but I wanted to get a standard of gifts for the holiday to make sure. I also didn't want to go too big and overwhelm her because it is our first Valentine's Day as I said, and she is super shy.

So what are your thoughts anybody?

So I'm dating this girl. I've known her for the better part of a year. We both wanted to date early 2014, but a year ago her mom didn't approve, so we couldn't. She ended up getting permission in December and we started dating. It's longer and more complicated than that, but that is the best summary I could offer. But we're dating and I couldn't be happier. I've kinda been... in love with her for a while.

Anyway, we went on our first date around... Mid December a few weeks ago. Since then, we went on three more. We're planning another this weekend (it's hard because she is super busy with school and such).
Neither of us have had a significant other before, and I wanted to make a Valentine's Day Gift special. I am big into that. I am classified by my female friends as a 'romantic' and I like making things special. For instance, for her birthday, I was drew her a portrait of her favorite actor ever (a month prior her birthday) and again long story. But I felt bad she wouldn't have anything from me on her birthday. I bought her flowers. For Christmas, I got her an autograph of her favorite actor (same as above) which is almost impossible to get.

I want to do something special. So since we met last year (Nov '13) I have been saving sentimental things. We met at a play, I saved my ticket, and the playbill. I saved the receipt from her birthday flowers and the business card. I have the envelope from her autograph from England. The receipt from our first date lunch. Handwritten notes we used comunicate through snapchat sometimes. Things like that. I had an idea of making all that into a framed collage type thing. And printing out the one photo of us that we took when we met for lunch once (the second time we got together like in Aug '13) having that in the center

I'll go into more detail in comments, but I'm running out of characters. What are your ladies opinions? Too sappy? Too early for something like that? Should I just go with generic candy and flowers?

Plan A - I call her tonight and tell her im coming by tomoro to get the necklace back that i gave her but when i show up she comes out to me waiting with flowers and her favorite candy and when she hands me the necklace i put it on her

Plan B - I get to her house before she gets home from school and im there empty handed and ask her to bring out the necklace and then when she does come back out then same as plan a from there on out

Plan C - wait for her to get home with the flowers and candy in my hand and just leave the necklace part out

by the way tomoro would have been our 3 month so she will be thinking of me a lot throughout the day maybe wishing in the back of her mind that she was seeing me and thats why i like the idea not to call ahead and itll be a nice surprise and catch her off guard (shes been mad at me for things i said during the break up) but i also like the necklace idea a lot too cus it will make her think damn he's taking it back and then compeltely surprise her and throw her off when im actually there to do the opposite and make a statement of how much i care. im posting a vote but also comments would be much appreciated!
