I have one very outgoing little sister, and even though she’s only just turned eleven she’s already boy-crazy. Every few weeks she comes home from school or from a friend’s house or wherever, and tells me about a new boy she met who she’s started dating, and about how she’s so in love with him. She even talks about marrying them and having kids with them one day. However, within a week or two, something happens that causes them to break up, and eventually she meets a new boy, continuing the cycle.

At first I just thought it was funny and cute, but recently it’s started to worry me. All her friends are apparently the same way, and for some of them it’s landed them in some pretty inappropriate situations. For example, one of my sister’s friends, who’s around 11, is supposedly sexually active with her 13 year old boyfriend. That’s a scary thought.

Do any of you have younger siblings, children, or other family members or friends who are always infatuated with someone despite their age? Do you think it’s cute and that there’s no harm in it? Or do you think it’s something worrying that should be discouraged?

I’m sorry about my language and poor grammar in this. My emotions took over, but I’m just honestly so done. I don’t wanna be stuck in this never ending cycle anymore. // My words on this issue: “You kno, I don't know even why i keep going back. I’ve left like 2 times. That one time he moved to someone else and then to the point where i was just done bc he wouldn’t ever do shit. But he always try’s to understand. I can feel the effort. I know how i should never settle for stuff like this bc i deserve better, but... I don't know.. maybe I’m afraid bc i don’t like the feeling w/o someone, or maybe it’s bc i feel as if i won't get the same feeling again. But the same cycle happens and I’m just so done. I... Know the fact that i someone shouldn’t attempt to leave someone in order to get the attention they deserve, but... I don't know... he always looks at me like he try’s and everything, but he doesn’t. I don’t understand how it’s so hard to just text someone or respond to their story on some stupid shit. THE RATIO IS SO LOW. Obviously texting and shit shouldn’t be something to base your entire relationship off of, but he’s literally giving me one word answers. Wth. YOU can't JUST DECIDE WHEN YOU WANT TO TALK! DAMNIT WHY IS IT SO HARD. IT shouldn't BE THAT HARD. And everytime i see his friends/friend group looking over or just at me. So they know, BUT WTH?”

I dated this guy on and off.
He pulled several things on me that I didn’t like and always had the perfect excuse for his behaviour.
He ghosted me 2 weeks
Not to mention he ghosts me whenever I am on my monthly cycle (doesn’t talk to me at all)
Stops initiating contact so I chase him which I don’t because it’s draining
Keeps promising to take me out on a proper date but never does
I lost a ring one day and he suggested to call the place we where at to find it but never did. So it’s lost for good!

Is super flaky on planned dates that does not involve sex. And sometimes even more flaky when it coincides with something he wants to do.
I always dump him and he always calls me the crazy one.

Has the guts to pretend this is a relationship!

Makes me feel like not a priority

I’m truly done though with him... he drains my energy even if I try not to get too invested
