I asked a guy I like out to get ice cream (and no, I didn't call it a date when I asked). His mom wouldn't let him go. Later, I confessed my interest in him over text. He seemed pretty calm about it. I told him I was nervous and explained it was because he's my friend's ex and he said "You're allowed to like whoever you want." <-- HE NEVER SHARED HOW HE FELT WITH ME. He stayed calm.

I told my mom that he turned down my invite and she talked to his mom (but, I told her to make it no big deal). I found out from MY mom that HIS mom only said no because she thought we were walking straight from our school to the ice cream place (which is a long walk). She offered to drive us both there and drop us off. I asked him about which day his mom is going to take us it and he was like, "Huh?" Apparently his mom didn't discuss this with him so our moms and I knew but he was out of the loop about the plans he was involved in. I told him to talk to his mom about it. I get it, parents sign their kids up for stuff all the time and forget to tell them.

I texted him this past Friday and asked him if he wanted to get ice cream and that I'd pay (because who turns down free ice cream?) and he said he was busy at the moment. I texted him to clarify that I meant next week and not like at THIS moment.

Should I bring it up again at school or leave it alone till HE brings it up first (even if that means we never discuss it again)? He's the rare combination of sweet and attractive so I don't want to give up but I also realize nagging is unattractive.
