(This question was inspired by a GAG member who posted a question that suggested that many liberals would be saddened by the execution of a serial killer, but absolutely elated by the death of an anti-vaxxer, via Covid-19.)

Tookie was an American gangster who co-founded and led the Crips gang in Los Angeles. He and Raymond Washington formed an alliance in 1971 that established the Crips as Los Angeles' first major African-American street gang.

Tookie's career with the Crips ended in 1979 when he was arrested for the murder of four people during two robberies. (In one of the murders, he shot an innocent convenience store clerk in the face, just to show off to his homies, how "bad-ass" he was)

Tookie was convicted of the four murders, and put on death row. He spent 20 years on death row, before his execution. (20 years? Reminds me of my last trip to the DMV)

But during those 20 years, Tookie made up for brutally killing four victims, by writing children's books, warning kids about being in gangs. (You can get them on Amazon, but they'll run you about 900 bucks, each)

Well, the 20 years ended and one minute after midnight, on December 13th, 2005, Tookie was put to death in California.
What's my point?

Tons of liberals turned out to protest and demand that Arnold issue clemency for poor Tookie the murderer, because he was such a great guy who wrote children's books.

Gavin Newsom would have built statues in honor of the murderer, Tookie, but Arnold, rightfully, sided with the four victims that will never be able to write children's books or live a good life with their children and families, because they're DEAD. Tookie robbed them of that.
(Arnold Schwarzenegger was the governor of California at that time.)

An ultra-liberal, Mike Farrell (right) was there that night protesting the pending execution of Tookie, and wept in tears because of how unfair Arnold and our system is, in regards to cold-blooded murderers.
