Why the bible teaches all hard productivity profits you

I know a guy through family friends who is obsessed with fitness, he exercises for 2.5 hours a day doing cardio and drinks less than one can of Coke every 2 years, his diet is so austere, most people would be bored within hours but even though his physical fitness has not created huge benefits for his life, he’s been repaid in other ways, being offered 5 high paying jobs that increased his salary over 20% less than 8 months after settling into his new position, so he was repaid for his devotion to athleticism, just not in the way of greatly improved appearance.

I know other people who work hard at dead end marriages that fail, but their devotion and hard work helped them in other ways, by improving their career prospects, when they sought to open a new chapter in their lives, as a reward for their marriage investment. Your hard work is a lot like your karma, it works for you, even in areas of your life that you do not specifically target or pursue, just like karma can reward you in ways that you do not anticipate, your investment in your career might boost your personality instead of your career, your investment in one failed romantic relationship might lead to an improvement in your relationship with your children, and your investment in health and nutrition might lead to higher income as opposed to longer life etc…

To me this is why the bible says all hard work leads to profit because your hard work is your karma and karma is not isolated to just one area of your life.
