Do you have sore throat during period?

I have cold related symtoms during my period. Headache and sore throat.. Also my lenfnoids are very painful and cannot move my neck.. Do you think they are related with each other, or just a coincidence?

Sore throats always concern me. Sometimes it's just a sore throat from being out in the cold weather, but sometimes a sore throat can turn serious.

The doctor always told me to gargle with warm salt water several times a day. The salt kills the bacteria.

With swollen lymph nodes something is up, like an infection.

Are the sore lymph nodes in your neck, or at the very top of your leg in your groin area?

Don't hesitate to see a doctor, as they can tell you what up with your throat and lymph nodes.

Yeah girl, sore throats around your period can totally be a thing! Hormones do all sorts of crazy stuff to our bodies.

When estrogen and progesterone levels drop at the start of your cycle, it can weaken your immune system a bit and make you more vulnerable to infections taking hold. Colds, even strep throat, can flare up.

Stress from cramps might make neck/lymph issues worse too. Your lymph nodes filter out bacteria/viruses, so if under the weather already they'll get extra swollen and sore.

The good news is it should pass once your period ends and hormones level out again. In the meantime, get lots of rest, drink plenty of warm fluids, take pain meds for cramps and aches.

If the throat is super painful or fever develops, see a doc to rule out anything serious. But chances are you just caught a bug at an inconvenient hormonal time - feel better sis!

Strangely I have never gotten that. I get heightened sense of smell though. Just make sure to gargle your mouth with warm saltwater every now & then. Your sore throat should disappear if you keep doing that.

When my sister was younger and had her period, yes she would get a sore throat and cold, it is common. I don't know what these air heads are thinking.

When I first started menstruating, I would have cold symptoms. I have different symptoms now, but yeah, when I was a young teen, I thought I’d be coming down with a cold, but a couple of days later, I’d get my period.

Not really. I usually have a bad case of strep throat once a year but is not due to my period. It's usually a virus/bacteria.
