So in my English class someone had a presentation about white-washing. Basically the girl in the class was talking about how many theater roles are given to white people other than POC that were originally wrote in the first script of the play or musical. Basically say a Latino was written originally but they casted a white person. After the presentation people were taking about their opinions. I raised my hand and basically said that I like having diversity in musical, plays, movies, tv shows but a lot have the same people of that race in everything. For example Kevin Hart is almost always the funny sidekick. It would be nice to other people of the same race. A lot of the actors in Hollywood are great but are overused in almost everything. After what I said some people got offended by my comment which I was confused because I was on their side for diversity but would love to see new black, Asian, white stars in stuff. How was this offense? Keep in mind, this was a English class in high school with students with almost the same political views (left winged). I consider myself as a moderate and agree with stuff from the left but never the far left.

Basically, I was meant to be walking over to his house to visit him tonight after I'd eaten my dinner.

However, he lives in the same suburban area as a guy who tried to force himself (sexually) when I was drunk at the age of nineteen (5 years ago). To be honest, that whole situation took its toll on me, and I never wanted to see the guy's face again, which makes it risky when my current boyfriend lives pretty close to him.

So yeah, as I was about to turn into my boyfriends street tonight, the guy who tried to take advantage of me turned into the street driving his car. I kinda slowed my pace in the hope he'd go into his house before I walked on to the street. But he didn't, he kinda loitered in his car. So I decided not to take the turn off, I just kept walking away from the situation.

I asked my boyfriend to come get me, and I explained why I didn't walk down to his house. He was clearly annoyed (he had been working all day) and seemed moody with me. He then said 'I don't understand why you couldn't just walk 30 metres to my house with your hood up, you had to call me instead' - which got me upset and angry because I really didn't wanna face that guy, it would only bring back bad memories for me.

So I basically then left my boyfriends house after his comment and he was like 'oh so you'll walk past his house now?' And I was so annoyed I was just like 'watch me'. At which point he raced out the house after me and offered to take me home or back to his house if I wanted.

I opted for home, and then he admitted he was being an 'ass hole' but by this time I was crying anyway. So I just exited his car and haven't heard from him since. Did I overreact or am I right in saying he could have been more understanding?
