So I met this girl she is black, I am white. I think she is very attractive, a cool person, good head on her shoulders and an all around great person. I would like to ask her our but feel like she wouldn't date me because I'm not black. I feel this way since besides one of her girl friends and me she has no friends who are white. She has called me "white boy" in a joking manner before. And the few times I was over to her place her family didn't seem to accepting of me, more so her father and grandma. She also told me before she knew me she called me "cracker" before in a racist way. She said it was because we are neighbors and she would smell me BBQing and it smelt good, so her family would refer to me as that when talking about me BBQing all the time. But she also admitted she thought I was a very different person than I am before she knew me and was a bit stereotypical.

All this makes me think she might not be interested in me. But we are becoming good friends. So I just curious to how open black women are to dating a white guy? Should I tell her I'm into her and ask her out?

- She wants to meet up with me even when she’s unwell although she’ll try to hide it. She always wants to meet up.
- she likes to dress smart when she sees me - she’s normally very casual (although when I said to her “how long have you had that, it’s quite smart - she started saying “oh I only wore it because it’s warm” then stopped wearing it in future when she saw me)
- She always messages me.
- She hides the fact we always hang out together (almost weekly) from mutual friends & also makes sure to not get toon close to me when with mutual friends
- She moves away from me if I get too close ever since I told her I only see her as a friend after I said her best friend implied she likes me. In response to that she got angry and said “i don’t know why she said that when she knows I’m not interested in dating. I’m really mad at her.”
- She doesn’t see anyone else as often alone. If we miss a week she says “it was weird not meeting this week after getting used to it” with a laughing emoji.
- we sometimes miss meets of hobby group we met in or parts of mutual friends birthdays to do something together alone.
- She responds negatively when I call her mate saying “did you mean to send me this? Only guys call each other mate.”
- She’s sensitive to my emotions. If I look sad she mentions it and tries to figure out why for example. And if she thinks it’s her fault, she’ll be really apologetic about it.
- She’s happy when I see her or when I tell her I’m going to something she’s going to.
- she laughs about it always being just us 2 going somewhere together
- We are going on holiday together (booked 7 months in advance) after she suggested one.
- if I don’t see her for a while, she’ll message without fail.
- She’s a low maintenance girl but despite becoming close friends, I feel she puts in effort with me to present herself well although she’ll never admit it.
- She’s fine being touched on the hand, arm, back.
