Search Results: looking in the mirror a lot

I have a powerful workstation for all kinds of purposes from simple document work to high end gaming and working with scientific programs inside virtual machines (to spare my primary workstation from such programs and it's accompanied changes).

Earlier I expected future games to be all awesome, fun, great graphics and made with love (like made by gamers for gamers).

However looking back today I have an opinion, that the modern games seem just really awful. For example CS:GO is a skin gambling simulator with a mostly really toxic community. For me COD died as soon as Adv. Warfare came out (mainly because of the lack of support, unoptimized game and the jetpacks) and it takes around 50 GB of space. Speaking of 50 Gigabytes, it is the reason why I'm not even considering GTA 5. Minecraft and Terraria is just not for me (I prefer Garry's mod instead).
And since Steam introduced a mistake called Greenlight, many devs try to make cheap ass games for something like a haha simulator. It may not be for me but I'm expecting quality games rather than mass production of cheap games for my money. Assassins Creed while started out great eventually turned into what COD did: a terrible money making factory.

That is not to say, that all modern video games suck (in my opinion anyways). I enjoyed Hatred, Bioshock Infinite, Mirrors Edge and Killing Floor 2. Payday 2 is meh since it's unoptimized, pay-2-win, infested with DLCs and weighs a lot.

However the games, that I liked the most are the good old ones like Heroes 3, Unreal Tournament 2k4, The Gothic games, Warcraft 3 TFT. I find myself having the most fun with the old games, where the developers actually put effort into making games fun, balanced, optimized and cared about the content to make sure, that the customers get the best experience out of it (and often for a low price).
