I made a tinder account yesterday night because I was kinda bored. This was at 2am, but I decided to go ahead and start swiping because I had nothing to lose.

To my surprise 3 girls were online and I matched with them. So again, with nothing to lose, I hit them up obviously looking for some late night coochie (I obviously didn't say that though).

It's now 12:46 the next day and I keep getting the "---- is looking at your pictures" but none of them have replied!!

It seems that no one admits to doing online dating but there are a ton of online dating sites that stay in business so. . . somebody is using them! Let's talk about the critical step of reviewing girls' profiles and what turns you off at that stage.

I have done online dating three times in my life: 2007-2008, 2015, and 2017-2018. When I did online dating, I reviewed hundreds - maybe thousands - of women's profiles. There were a few things that were deal killers for me: no pictures posted, pictures with apparent boyfriend, naked or revealing pictures, picture with Eiffel Tower in background, statements about wanting a guy who is financially secure (I actually saw a profile that said that the woman would not date a man unless he had an annual income of at least $100,000,) statements that reflected low education, statements about extreme political views.

When you look at a girl's profile, what immediately makes you hit the "back" button and move on to the next profile, despite how attractive her pictures may be?

So, I'm approaching 30yo now. I'm fairly successful financially, having spent most of my twenties (since graduating uni with a 1st) establishing my own business enterprise, and clawed my way out of the gutter. Needless to say, I'm quite intelligent, both mentally and socially, and capable of holding my own when it comes to conversation, negotiation and presentation. I'm also extremely fit, athletic, handsome, and 'well-endowed', so to speak. However, I still have no romantic experience whatsoever, save for a few years of online dating, and a few first dates which never went any further; one of them turned out to be a catfish with a fake profile pic, another only wanted a casual friends with benefits relationship (which I refused on principle), and didn't have any real chemistry with either of the other two. At my age, then, is it already too late? Would any good woman, one worth pursuing a LTR with, still be willing to consider dating me in spite of this? Or is it just going to be a long line of single mums, sugar-babies and other gold-diggers that I'll have to choose from now?

Selfie and specficially posed profile pictures where time and effort has been specifically put into making a profile picture for you.

Relaxed where you are doing something else but decided to use it on your datingprofile. Examples include tourist pictures, posed sport pictures (recieving medals, team pictures), work promotional pictures. No specific effort has been made into making this a great profile picture, usual daily clothes/hair or dressed up for some other purpose.

Candid, you didn't even know this picture was taken. This could be actually doing a sporting activiy (running, cycling, playing a team game), cooking a meal, digging the garden, etc. No specific effort has been made into making this a great profile picture, at the time, you didn't even notice this being taken. You saw this and thought it represented you so used it on your profile.

My profile pic would probably be classed as Relaxed, solo. I was packing my car to move house and saw someone with a camera. I hadn't done any preparation for the picture and after loading/unloading my car a few times already I was a bit tired and worn down.

There is a selfie of me out there somewhere but I didn't put any effort into prepping or posing for that (plus it was more for the background than anything else).
