So I've just been dumped on Sunday over text-soooo mature- but it is not official yet since we are trying to find time in our schedule to talk about why and such. He gave me a doctor who hat he bought on vacay in Florida for me in January, even though he had already given me a birthday and Christmas present since my birthday is just two days shy from new years.
I was really touched and grateful he did something like that because all throughout the relationship, I always doubted if he cared for me because of how indifferent he would act at times were he should have been supportive and caring. He knew how obsessed I was with the show n had mentioned that he wasn't able to buy one for me cuz he had forgotten his wallet- he was in universal studios with his family. But he did.

That was the first time I ever felt he cared about me, and now that we are having a mutual breakup- I don't want to seem like I'm being rude to him by returning the hat to him.

I just can't keep the hat because it reminds me too much of him, and I won't be able to heal.
I want to give the gift back, but I worry he would be offended by that. He didn't have to give it to me, yet he did so. I don't want to make him feel bad even though he did everything my exes did; breaking up through text and just a few days shy from Valentine's day over something I have no control over.

he still wants us to remain good friends, but I honestly want to forget everything that was between us. But I want to do that in the most un-offending way possible because even though he was very indifferent at times, he treated me well. We had a connection in everything BUT an emotional one.
