I just don't like arguing with people in general. I hate when people get mad because our views differ, and I basically avoid debating at all costs.

What I hate even more than debating, is debating about intellegent topics, such as war and laws. Not only do they bore me quite a bit, they fuel anxiety. I would love to express my opinion, but I keep silent. I don't want to fuel a debate.

Not only am I afraid of debating, it's super difficult to let other people see the other side of the argument. Let's face it, it's EXTREMELY hard to persuade people, so I avoid it. There's really no point in trying. I get frustrated speaking my mind and having people dismiss me completely.

Arguing is the same as debating too right? I hate it as well. If someone makes me mad or something, I just avoid starting a conflict all together. I will either dismiss the person or try to forget what they did. I hate when someone is mad at me. I'm a sensitive individual. I can't stand hate at all.

I just wanted to know if it's normal to feel this way. Feel free to leave an opinion.

A couple of weeks my friends and I got into this debate on whether this guy likes me or not.

I truly think he does like me but sometimes I'm not entirely sure, he's not exactly shy and I feel like if he wanted to ask me out he would've. But my friends keep telling me that its part of his "plan" and it's his "mechanism".

I met him almost three months ago and we immediately hit it off, during this summer we've texted almost everyday and phone called each other a pretty decent amount. We talk on the phone for hours mostly late at night until like the sun rises. We talk about anything, mostly funny random topics or what happened during the day. Sometimes we tease each other and call each other names or tell one another to get professional help. Lol.

However, that wasn't the real reason why every single one of my friends started believing he liked me. It was because recently he invited me to a party and a few of his friends. My friends said that they weren't invited and it was weird because they were not only friends with him longer but went to high school with them. (We're in college).

But that wasn't all, he invited me to this party and ended up having to change the times because he was told last minute he had to work. I told him it was cool because parties are better at night anyways. So he changed it but ended up having to cancel all together because he wasn't going to get home until REALLY late. So I was like its okay but he felt REALLY bad and told me he'd make it up to me.

Which he did a few days later, he knew I wanted to try his food so he cooked me three full trays of it and brought it to my house as an apology. He had to leave right after because it was really late at night and he had to go.

So my best friends and their boyfriends constantly tell me that he really digs me because no guy would slave in a kitchen for hours for some girl they just met two-three months ago unless there was something there or invite her to his house for a party with HIS friends. Not to mention talk everyday and call each other all the time.

I'm a little on the fence but I sort of believe them. What do you guys think? Do you think he likes me or no?

I've noticed various users state that the motive behind interacting by making a comment is simply to debate. Not to have a productive, progressive discussion or to explore new possibilities. Yet simply to seemingly boost their egos and desperately try to show off what they know (or think they know). This often is expressed with entitelment as if they have a right or innately deserve cooperation, extensive time, thought, and effort from a total stranger for no other reason that they chose to invite themselves to that person's space.

I can't get into that. I come here to HELP. My motive for being here is to advise and guide not to waste dialogues and valuably limited time alive bickering in front of a screen. It seems like an utter waste of time to me especially if these individuals do not have the skill and social refinery to adquately debate in a way that's effective.

What's your view on this overall topic? What do you think is the thought process behind people like that? What motivates you to come to GAG?
