A Rock and A Hard Place: Posting Controversial myTakes and Questions.

A Rock and a Hard Place, is when an individual is conflicted between what both choices seem impossible, for both are beyond what one can bear-In this case, posting controversial topics that would cause all of the world to declare war on you. In the past several months of being an offical gagger, I have made people laugh as well as mostly jeer; with the result of some tears, discouragement, fear, and anger-somewhat on my part. The questions I would like to raise, would be to know when to post such myTakes and to also know what topic to talk about.

My previous bullying encounters came from bloggers as far as Eastern Europe on this website, mainly because of my seemingly spiteful thoughts on homosexaulity and polygamy coming into full light in my own country. (USA) They all seem to desire to point out my hypocrisy or whatever people choose to be offended by at the moment, when I share my upbringing or my worldview. It's no secret that the honeymoon stage of my semi-religious and patriotic views have ended and that I sometimes wish I was of a different era of time...back when people could politely agree to disagree without suits, lawyers, or even having to endure broken relations, otherwise I'd pray that they would understand what I mean and do. We've had so many heated debates over the American Confederate Flag, Flag Stomping, Gun Control, and Christain Bakers forced to serve ceremonial Wedding Cakes to Homosexuals by order of the LGBT commune over this past summer, to the point where it's difficult to enjoy life in general.

To Tell You The Truth:

2. I Love People Dearly-I've just been too intense.


3. I Wish We Could All Agree To Disagree; Respectfully


4. I Hate Political Correctness.


5. I Wish Politics Wasn't Such An Issue.

When Is It Ever A Good Time To Speak of Such Things:

1. When people know of your charater, personally.


2. With people you trust.


3. With people who respect you.


4. When people don't play the victim or seek a scapegoat.


5. When You Truly Feel Called.

Being a myTake contributor is a great experience. For me, I write something, it gets promoted, and gets people talking. For feedback, I get some good, and I get some bad. I've even had some innocuous topics that I thought were pretty boring end up with haters. The thing is, if you can get someone reading and discussing either with you and/or others, we're actually in a much better time now than two hundred years ago when everyone just kept their mouths shut. As the Take Owner you're in the line of fire of every response/discussion whether you like it or not.

I've authored a couple of books, and the difference is writing something and putting it out there, and not engaging with reviewers. Here, I can't help but notice it. Then the temptation to discuss is there.

I've seen some of the most light-hearted myTakes get trampled on by people who don't deserve it. There are some excellent users on this site, and a lot of them are still amazing even when we are in disagreement. No matter what you write, just know that you gave it your best and not to be discouraged to write another. The more you write and experience how it goes, the easier it is because you can see things coming.

I have been involved with myTakes involving religion, abortion, feminism... basically anything that is going to piss off half the people here. I have a lot more respect for people when I can tell someone, "Look, I don't agree, and here's why... but nicely written and you have a right to make your opinion known," and get in to maybe a two-message limit conversation where we can part company on the topic and still have fun on the site elsewhere. It makes it difficult when someone loses their mind and becomes hostile.

I believe one girl on here told me to go get cancer and die because I didn't believe in God, but anyway, yeah...

Controversial topics sometimes make some of the best myTakes. It's actually the discussions within the Take that brings on the fun part. :) Anyway, welcome to GaG, and I'll look forward to some of your myTakes! :)

When is whenever you feel like it, there is no rule to when. Regarding to topic, whatever you personally feels needs to be addressed.

Naturally, you most expect strong expressions on controversial subjects like homosexuality and polygamy, people have strong feelings pro or con, with very little room for middle ground.

The key here is, you must respect that fact that approx. half will disagree with you, some may block you for stating you mind. You must however show the emotional constraint to allowed free expression, to counter any argument as you see fit, and then except that neither one of you are going to convince the other to change his or her mind.

Personally I am at the true middle ground in regards to for instance homosexuality and polygamy. I am morally offence by both, as I see it as immoral behaviour, however I also see the right to practise immoral behaviour as a civil right.

So I am in favour of the law to allow bad stuff, however I still believe it's bad and won't practise is myself no-matter what.

So my views means, those who are pro homosexuality sees me as a gay basher, those against it, sees me as an immoral liberal, in reality however I am simply balanced.

I HATE political correctness myself, mainly because it is often ignorance. Purposely trying NOT to offend people will actually make our country more "wimpy" and create a bunch of people who can't receive CRITICISM.

About political correctness. I Think it is an extended form of euphemism. And I hate euphemism because they hide the reality.
