27F: I’m meaning people that I am probably a little closer to, beyond an acquaintance level. If you have an acquaintance, you don’t have that much of a bond in the first place. I’ve been told by family that I’m going to end up alone because I’m hasty and quick to cut off people. I had a friend from HS that I maintained a friendship with for a few years but stopped talking to her because she was somewhat self absorbed. She tried adding me back as a friend on social media previously but I ignored it. Two friends like this actually, now I have 3 other online friends and I’m turned off with each of them (they don’t know it though, haven’t blocked them).

I understand that no one is perfect and I’m probably one to irritate them too. If they want to stop being friends, I can’t fault them. But why am I going to keep people in my life that don’t have my best interest or something about them doesn’t mesh well with my expectations? I’m not too selective either, I’m a tit for tat person and if it’s not 50/50, the dynamic isn’t worth maintaining.

Anyone agree? I get down on my loneliness at times but I feel you’re better off alone versus being with people that aren’t for you in the long run.

I don’t really have dating experience aside from someone I saw for a few months years ago. I haven’t had sex since and have no desire to. Since dating apps haven’t treated me nicely, I have just given up on the possibility of something good happening. At 27, are you not as desirable? I really did not think I would go this long without having a steady guy in my life. I have never even brought a guy home to meet my family, not gonna settle for the sake of avoiding loneliness.

27f, I am one of the women that can confidently say that I’m unlucky in love. Unlike other women I’ve known that were approached by men, I have never been approached by a decent guy in person. I’ve been skinny and I’ve been thick and I’ve been fat, my dating life has remained stagnant. The closest I got to a relationship was seeing someone for a few months that was not physically attractive but got women easily (personality?). I’ve been complimented on my looks, I would assume most people at least find me at minimum cute. I’ve been on and off dating apps for years, I decided to try bumble because the guys that messaged me first on dating apps were either weird, players or I just didn’t like back. What is so wrong with me? I don’t want children but I’m at the age where I’m not as desirable, oh wait I was 21 and still ignored by guys. I know my worth and will not settle for the sake of avoiding “loneliness”.
