Men concede, that in the name of formality and tradition, and as a sexual courtesy from men to women; it is customary and a polite gesture to pay for the first date.

Repetition of this process is abusive to and exploitative of men. However, instead of seeing the "fairer sex" insist on trying to not allow for such to be the case, it seems to be all too common to see women trying to avoid paying for dates.

Some common methods are, but are not limited to:

(1) insisting on the "whoever invites, pays" standard; and then intentionally abusing such a standard by never "inviting," therefore never paying.

(2) trying to associate paying for dates as something positive towards one's masculinity and negative to one's femininity; attempting to create feelings of guilty and shame for men who do anything less than not happily insist on paying for every date or the majority of dates throughout the relationship, in an effort to emotionally coerce men into paying and thus avoid paying themselves.

The two common methods aside, rather than this turning into a rant, it would be more productive if instead, we simply explored and make inquiry as to "WHY" some women try and avoid paying for dates.
