Hey guys. I have this colleague at my office whom I started getting crush on recently. Few days back I started feeling like he was attracted to me too so I called him to ask if he feels the same. Now it turned out to be awkward to know that he was just being friendly. I had asked him sorry and I misunderstood him. The bad thing is we work on the same project and I am in a position like a team lead. It's always me going to him and asking for help again and again and it really frustrating to see him not respond like usual. Even if I try to forget it as a bad dream, him being too silent makes me feel like he thinks that I am after him unable to handle the rejection. The worst part is I work at a startup and it's like we have to work on many projects together in the future too. My question is, is there anything that I can do to make him talk like before? Should I talk to him again to not take that event seriously or leave it just like that?

I have a crush on my coworker who is in a loving relationship already. I don’t flirt or make any moves and I filter everything I say 100x more than I would in a normal friend conversation. But, I purposely pretend to forget his birthday as part of that... we aren’t friends really, but we get along well and talk a lot at work. Was this a bad thing for me to do?
