I’ve been talking to my boyfriend. We recently started dating but he seems to really dislike the idea of legal marriage. He wants to protect his financial assets, says love is emotional and shouldn’t be a legal matter, and that that level of commitment might make things go stale (like people stop putting effort in). Yet he would call that person his wife and have kids with her too. Also he said he’d be more willing to buy an expensive car than to get his spouse a expensive ring (though he would make a compromise if that was important to her )

So I've had a friend for about 5 years. we've had our differences, usually we work it out.

My "friend" has been living a train wreck of a life that she's kinda forced on herself.
I usually set aside the fact that I feel like she's made a bad decision and try to help her through it.

But for starters, I lost my virginity to my boyfriend when I was 19, three months into our relationship. We've now been together for 4 years and we JUST got engaged this past weekend.
When I told this friend that I'd had sex (she'd never done it before either), she got a little "cold". All she said was is "I just don't understand why it couldn't wait for marriage." And essentially kinda made me feel bad for not waiting.
I ignored her for a few weeks, then she messaged me about HER boyfriend was cheating on her pretty blatantly. He'd go WEEKS without even sending her a TEXT. Nothing at all. And then randomly send her pictures of some half naked woman. Just to hurt said friend. So I felt bad for her, tried to talk to her, and I told her she needed out of that relationship. I tried to put it delicately, since she was "so in love." And she then SHE stopped talking to me.
Fast forward like 2 weeks and she tells me she had sex with him so he would cheat. (He didn't stop.) Well now 3 years later, I'm engaged, have a great job, just living my best life really.
3 years later for her is, she has had a baby with her cheater boyfriend. Not married or engaged, neither of them has a job, they don't even live together. Still with their parents.

When I told her I was engaged though she just couldn't be happy. Her exact words were "well me and John could be married by now, but there's just no point since we knows left we love each other".
So admittedly I snapped and replied "well that's so great that you changed your mind after you shamed me for having sex then turned around and had a baby with a guy you don't even live with."
She Left me on read and honestly I have nothing to say to her. AITA?

I'm in love, no need to sugar coat it. It's unrequited (to the best of my knowledge) and it's so hard. It's not the first time this has happened.. I liked a guy for five years that I didn't know well. We were close as kids but I liked the idea of him rather than truly him because I didn't truly know him as we grew older and apart. I moved on, and it took confirmation of nothing ever happening, but it did eventually pass. I now like this other guy and at the beginning I was so aware of everything so I decided to approach every step of this as prayerfully and as honestly as possible. I want to Glorify God with everything I do, and although marriage and that guy seem like a shiny jewel, it's nothing compared to the love I have for God. That doesn't make this painless though. He's in my Bible study group, I see him at church, I serve in kids programs alongside him, and any time I'm hanging with my friend group, he's there. I can't ignore him. I don't want to either, because I know that God is in charge and that he will resolve my feelings and my circumstances. I know that we go through trials in life that grow our faith, and I know I must choose one or the other, but I guess due to a lot of circumstances (which I don't have time or space to get into), right now is just a very difficult and pressing time for me in life. I like him for the right reasons, but I feel so heartbroken and heavy around him. And as I mentioned before, that's very often. I'm considering leaving my group, which would be so hard because it's like family to me, but I don't know what trial would bring God more glory. Leaving and trusting him through the pain in that, or staying and continuing to feel heartbroken and unable to say/do anything. I know that God is ultimately good and I'm so excited to see His plans for me, but right now I feel like I have to make an active choice in either staying or leaving for another group even if both choices are equally difficult for different reasons. Any advice?
