Search Results: should i play the game

So my girlfriend is mexican, and apparently she has a tradition in her family, once a year, to play a traditional game from her culture (from some original mexican tribe) where all the men of the family and their gfs/wives play.

The men have to stand up in boxers, legs open and hands attached behind their back, and no cup and the women of the other teams kick and throw tennis balls, soccer balls, basketballs at their groin from a distance. The last man standing wins and doesn't have punishment, the first one to lose has no courage and every other women from the other teams gets to kick his groin. Apparently it was originally played with rocks instead (ouch!) and was made to compensate for women having periods and going through pregnancy.

So 1st place no kick, 2nd place kick only from 1st place woman, 3rd place kick only from 1st and 2nd place woman, etc...
I am scared to play, apparently this year its next week and she wants me to participate for the first time, apparently all men play and those who refuse for no good reason are made fun of and seen as having no balls, often rejected and not seen as a good marriage fit.

Also she says I'll have more endurance because I'm younger and she plays basketball so she has nice precision and could made the other guys fall before me, but all of this still feels weird to me.
Should I still accept because I love her and she does everything to me, to show her I would do anything for her and get one step closer to her parents' approval?

Long story short, I started learning to play hockey over the past couple of years, but really, I have only a year’s experience figuring the down time with the pandemic. Picked a terrible time to start, lmao.

I received an email today from a local adult hockey league advertising the upcoming winter/spring season. I didn’t sign up for a league in the fall, because I didn’t feel ready. I could play, but I don’t want to be bad, because I’m hard on myself for athletic failure, and more importantly, I don’t want to be a liability for the sake of my team. I’m getting better, but I’m still waiting to get fluid and automatic instead of clumsy and hesitant. I’ve changed my mentality to “take over the game” when I think I’m the best player on my team who’s on the ice, and I feel like I thrive in that scenario. But when I’m the third-or-lower of the five, I feel like I suck, haha. I’ve been playing at night recently with some new guys, and the first week, most of them were 55+, and I scored like six goals, one guy was calling me “Stevie Yzerman” after the former NHL great. The next week better players came and I had a TOUGH night lmao.

So this league…what makes me consider it is it’s supposedly for beginners, and there’s an evaluation game and then a draft party afterwards, and you get picked for a team. I just don’t know how tight they’d be about skill level, like would ringers be out there posing like novices? The other thing…I already know I can’t make the second game of the season because it’s my dad’s 90th birthday. I guess it’s just one game but I’d hate to miss it after committing to a team. The season ends April 6th, so I could wait til then…. but I’m so anxious to get started with competitive play. I’m all heart and grit out there, haha, but I’m still getting some of the finesse skills down. But against similarly skilled players, maybe it’s a good opportunity to play and get better, instead of just trying to keep up with way more experienced guys.

So, I'm really into programming but I'm thinking of selling my Xbox to BestBuy to trade in so I can get a Raspberry Pi and other accessories for it's setup. I got my Xbox last year and spent a lot of money on games and stuff but I feel like I'm getting a bit to addicted to gaming and I want to focus more on studying programming so I can start a career for myself soon, instead of getting distracted with gaming.

I've been distracted from gaming since I was young starting on my laptop. I got my xbox last year as a birthday gift to myself and to have something to do during lockdown but I have played the games and stuff I want and getting bored of it after a few hours, and it is starting to feel repetitive. Though I won't really loose any of the games as it's tied to my microsoft account.

But I have 3 computers and thinking of just trading in my xbox to get a raspberry Pi device to learn some programming. I know a few programming languages but just want more hands on knowledge and I think it would be fun as I always want to get a Raspberry Pi. Just seems a bit difficult for me to break away from gaming.
