Shrek 5 Following the success of Shrek 2 in May 2004, Jeffrey Katzenberg revealed that the Shrek story had been outlined into five films almost from the beginning. "Before the first one was finished we talked about what the whole story of Shrek is, and each of the chapters answers questions about the first movie and gives us an insight," said Katzenberg, "Shrek 3 and 4 are going to reveal other unanswered questions and, finally, in the last chapter, we will understand how Shrek came to be in that swamp, when we meet him in the first movie." After the release of Shrek the Third in 2007, Katzenberg announced that the fifth film would be released in 2013.
In May 2009, DreamWorks Animation (DWA) announced that the fourth film's title would be Shrek Forever After, indicating that it would be the last in the Shrek series. Later in 2009, that was confirmed by Bill Damaschke, head of creative production at DWA, with him saying: "All that was loved about Shrek in the first film is brought to the final film."
Josh Klausner, one of the writers of Shrek Forever After, explained in 2010 the script's evolution: "When I first came onto the project, it wasn't supposed to be the final chapter — there were originally going to be 5 Shrek movies. Then, about a year into the development, Jeffrey Katzenberg decided that the story that we'd come up with was the right way for Shrek's journey to end."
In a 2014 interview with Fox Business Network, Katzenberg hinted that the fifth film still may be made. "We like to let them have a little bit of time to rest," he said of the characters. "But I think you can be confident that we'll have another chapter in the Shrek series. We're not finished, and more importantly, neither is he."
Then, following the sale in 2016 of DreamWorks Animation to NBCUniversal, a part of Comcast, DreamWorks announced it would continue releasing "at least two films" per year. The first two films will be Shrek 5 and Shadows, which will be different than the previously-developed Me and My Shadow.[1]
In an interview with Mike Mitchell and Walt Dohrn, they revealed that the story will be written by Michael McCullers.[2]
On November 6 2018, it was revealed in a Variety interview with Chris Meledandri, the founder and CEO Illumination, that there are reboots in the works for Shrek and Puss in Boots. He also revealed that he would like to get all the voice actors back from the original films. "When you look back on those vocal performances they’re awesome, and while you certainly could make a case for a complete reinvention, I find myself responding to my own nostalgic feelings of wanting to go back to those characterizations,” explained Meledandri. “The challenge for us has been to find something that really does feel like it’s not simply yet another film in a series of sequels.” No release date has been set for the film yet.

I just watched Spiderman today. It wasn't as attractive as the prequel, probably because I was a little distracted by too much stuff in my head, but I really liked the portion where Andrew and Toby joined the film. Damn, I missed Andrew's entry as the interval was over quicker than usual.
Some scenes were just as I felt it would be while I watched the trailer. As in Andrew saving MJ. It was obvious from the trailer because that's a scene which would hit Andrew's sipdey home.
And I wasn't surprised that he became really emotional after catching her.
But I was definitely surprised with the older spidermen having back issues. 😂 And I was positively surprised with Peter hacking Dr. Otto's suit.
Osborne was actually shown as a split personality individual, but I don't know how he got super strength of such extent so as to beat spiderman.
Another was Peter outperforming Dr Strange.
It was pretty obvious that Peter suddenly left the attempt to get back to Ned and MJ. But now he's really an orphan, unlike the other two spidies.
I need another film.
So far Gwen stays the best girlfriend, with Zendaya's MJ following closely.
Andrew saving MJ and Tobey almost dying were the best scenes of the film. Green Goblin was the best character in the film. Jamie Fox was the funniest in the film. Doc Octs character was turned good too soon and that disappointed me. Sandman and Lizard didn't get much of a chance unfortunately. The spideys having back issues was funny af. I dont like all the avengers/iron man tech incorporated into the movies annoy me so i didn't like how he hacked Dr Oct so soon. Doc Strange shouldve been able to escape the portals more easily and sooner but im thankful he didn't takeover the movie like annoying iron man tookover Homecoming. And tom is getting 3 more films. He didn't want them though becayse he wanted them to be live action films for Miles. But Sony told him no they want him. Gwen is the most useful but Maryjane was the perfect damsel. I love zendaya but her character on the films does nothing for me

For me, Dr. Octavious seemed more funny as he was neutralised too soon and he's just 🤣.

Sandman was definitely confused and what I felt dumb is Dr Strange not considering Peter's opinion and Peter taking all of those villians out in the open at once. That was a really immature thing to do.
