Hello, I am 17 years old and about to turn 18 in April. So, I never had a girlfriend (like literally ever; not even a fling). I've been trying to find one for 9 months and it has not been working out at all. I've been rejected about 7 or 8 times now. I tried out dating apps and I fucking despise them because they're unfair for guys. Lately, I've been sliding in girls DM's and I noticed the girls are not as picky. I was talking to this one girl and I got rejected by her because our interests didn't match up, but the physical attraction was there. Lately, I've been thinking that sliding in girls DM's won't work forever. So, I thought about it some more and I thought "If I slide in a girls DM'S, they might already have tinder or whatever app downloaded and why would they settle for me when they can get a dude way more attractive than me". Lately, I've come to a conclusion about me just calling it quits and hanging up the towel. One of my friends have already called it quits for dating. Like with these apps and women's crazy standards, it seems like a very good option to go for. One of my friends is telling me to don't quit. I just don't know what to do. I think that I'm ugly because I used to be made fun of for my face back in middle school. From boys and girls. I Remember one time, one kid looked at my face and said "Dude! What the fuck is wrong with your face?". In college, I noticed one time this girl was trying to avoid me. I don't know because it was my face or not. I did a rate me from 1-10 with 3 girls, one of them gave me a 5, 2nd gave me a 7, and the last one gave me an 8.5. I even thought about when I quit, I just thought about just letting myself to go. I want to bulk up and not worry about being fat. I want to pack on some muscle and get bigger. Should I stop dating and let myself go? If you think I shouldn't, where am I supposed to meet girls?

So I'm sure most guys can relate to the struggle of Tinder and online dating in general. While girls struggle with finding "the right guy" there are plenty of us out there. The problem is, nobody ever replies to us and have incredibly high expectations for the first message like "be different" or other ambiguous/superficial criteria. Most of us men average 1 reply for every 20-50 messages we send out. Even still, there is a very low probability that the replies will continue after 1-3 messages. On Tinder I personally average 1 match every 2-3 days, even if I swipe every single person right indiscriminantly (which I do on occasion.) I decided I'm going to post a new recurring series of questions.

These will include photos of my Tinder profile and girls can vote and explain their votes in order for me to learn the best practices as well as share them with other guys like me who are struggling to receive replies because there are a lot of us. Also please be brutal honest about other factors like racial preferences, physical attraction, etc. So anyway, below you will see my profile and all of my pictures and bio.

Bear in mind. I'm well aware that the last bit of my bio isn't exactly the most appealing statement but just note that it's there as a RESULT of no replies. It's not the cause of them. I've tried several different types of bios from funny, serious, disgruntled (lol) and it doesn't seem like it makes a difference on my rate of replies or matches.

This is my display picture. I always hated the idea of using filters to fake the lighting etc but I guess that's the norm now. Trying it out.

A lot of people, ESPECIALLY guys who have been friendzoned by girls, confuse the two, but there is a difference.

With the friendzone, they never had any sexual/romantic/physical/whatever attraction to you to begin with, and you're deluding yourself by believing otherwise.

The whole "admired from afar" thing is what most guys (and writers of Hollywood romantic comedies) THINK the friendzone is: They ARE into you, at least on some level, there are even mutual friends that can see it, but for whatever reason, they stubbornly refuse to actually act on these feelings. In some ways it's like dealing with someone who's been indoctrinated: That part of them that's into shines through, but whatever it is that holding her back takes over. Is their a chance that you can get them to come around? Yes. But there's also the danger of them taking the cowardly way out, cutting you out of their life completely so they don't have to deal with these feelings anymore.

So which would feel worse for you?
