I'm 16, and I met someone during quarantine. I was invited to some group chat that consisted of people my age from other schools in my school district. It was nice, and I met this guy. Let's call him Blue. We began to play video games together with his best friend, until we eventually just began to play together ourselves almost everyday. We would talk and have fun, I guess. We both discussed that we had interest in each other, and we began to start facetiming every night and talk during the day.

One time while we're face timing super late at night, I was staying up really late and my mom woke up and found me on my phone super late at night. I had down time at the time, so I wasn't able to use my phone, but I went into my dad's phone and turned off screen time to avoid it. Not worth to explain everything, but I managed to get out of screen time like I am now.

However, after that, my dad took my phone away for almost a month, and during that time, we didn't talk for almost two weeks properly. I ended up being added to another group of which he was in with his friends, and we would talk, but we didn't talk that much. I started to miss him, and I asked him if we wanted to facetime. He said no because it was too boring because there was nothing to talk to with "no offense to me."

I took it as a red flag and the next day, I message him to ask him if he has any interest. He kept saying that he was confused and to just be friends. He said he was sorry and said it was too boring and he didn't want to facetime everyday. We ended up playing video games again a while later with his friends, and while he wasn't aware in the party, he said, "I'm fine, but to be honest, I'd rather not play with her." And again, he said I was boring to play with and apologized. I said I didn't care and said I didn't want to play with him after he said that, and we haven't talked since. My building residence mate and I have a friendly relationship. When we bump into each other in the communal area, he’d always tease me for being a workaholic in a joking manner but has also told me me to think about work life balance in a more serious manner.

He’s an really nice guy in general who gets along and talks to everyone. He’d tell me to have a nice day when leaving for work, asking bout how an event went if we talked about it previously. There was once he told me I should drop by an event in the building hosted by some other building mates. I didn’t think much of it since it was a residence event.

This weekend, we were talking about weekend plans and he was telling me where he’s going and asking if I’ve been to places (I haven’t been around much as I’m very new to the city and work a lot). He then told me I should join him and his friends on the weekend who aren’t living in our building - they always do something on the weekend. It’s him, 2 couples and another guy.

If he’s asking me to join him and his friends with their significant other, is he casually asking as a friend or is he interested in more?
