Often I would simply sit next to girls I was attracted to, but it would sometimes work out and often times not. Why?

Many times they would go after specific guys in the center of social life on campus, or at least within the social sphere of the class specifically.

So here’s a radical thought: befriend and approach those men in the center of the social sphere instead of women directly, then get access to social events those women will attend with or without you —> then approach those same women you may have classes with.

This seems more effective because of social proof of mutual friend groups. Instead of being a random guy who sat next to her in class.

I’m not saying the way I did it before doesn’t work, but I am saying I think it’s less effective, ultimately. It’s an uphill road for sure.

I could get away with it when I was younger, but now I think I stand out a little bit more for being slightly older than before which adds to the oddity just enough to make it less effective. Especially since college revolves so heavily on social reputation and social life generally.

It’s not the same as being out in the world after class or on the weekend at outside venues.

I tried it out today. I introduced myself to the guy who is likely to have access to social events rather than the few women I felt attracted to — though I did introduce myself to one who sat near to me. I have arrested social development in many ways, so I’m literally experimenting on myself in real time seeing how things unfold when I do X or Y thing.

I've been talking to someone a lot more recently due to her having issues with a friends with benefits taking an emotional toll on her. She's been confiding in me a lot and we've been talking literally all day long. At one point, she accused me of being biased against her friends with benefits because I liked her. I initially ignored the comment and stayed focused on the issue she was facing and what I think the best course of action would be for her. After that, I did question why she thought I liked her and add that I was doing what I was doing because I want what's best for her. To that, she felt rejected and doubted herself a lot. I'm there for her either way, but am I in the friend zone here? To be clear, that wouldn't be a bad thing for me, but I wouldn't be opposed to pursuing a relationship with her.

Bit of a long story here. A year and a half ago, i had a class with a woman that i would be staring at (i would checkout during class and when id start paying attention again i would be looking at her) so i would look away, im sure she caught me staring. I had fallen alseep with fb open on my phone and somehow added people as friends which she added me back only for a couple days later i removed her (will explain). I found out after the semester was over an (now ex) friend was harassing her and that his wife found out.
Now i removed her because i was 24 at the time and she was PSEO (high scool student taking college classes at the college) and was under age at that time. So once i found out she was underage and not wanting drama i removed her.
Now the other day i was having my car worked on and went on fb on my laptop. I saw a message in the others folder that said she wanted to talk to me, calling her by name. But this message was from after the semester. So its a year and 4 months later should i message her or no?

Side note: after finding out he was harassing people i cut ties with everyone who could be a bad influnce so i had good influnces around.
