I'm not exactly sure how you define chasing but the way I see it - it is pursuing a love interest, even if they are disinterested at first. It is done under the premise that they'll eventually change their mind.

The way I see it - it is a rather unrewarding and pointless endeavour. Not to say that people shouldn't do it - by all means, you do you if you want to, but I believe that a girl/guy is not worth it if they don't express back at least a modicum of interest to you at the very beginning.

Like, even if I were to eventually woo her in, I'd have to live the rest of my life knowing that she was at first reluctant to like me. That she didn't bother giving me a chance from the getgo like I gave her. That it was unequal from the very beginning. And who's to say that that kind of dynamic won't repeat itself on other occasions?

And no, I'm not saying that I want to get a girl without trying or without effort. I wouldn't mind flirting and etc - I'm just saying that going out of my way to get her to like me is not worth it. Some might say that there's no gain without pain - I'm saying that you have to know which battles to fight and which to skip.

Is it normal to think this way? What do you think about this?

People are so persuaded by the trends and forget that we define our own styles, not an era of what others do.
