Search Results: how to get the perfect body

So recently my class had to write a fan fiction over the book “The Outsiders”, mind you this had to be a 3 paragraph minimum.
That’s where the trouble started. I got stuck with grading my friends paper. While doing this we had to read it before doing anything. I’m reading through this and it’s odd, the fan fiction is supposed to have a climax, falling point, rising action, etc, and this girl wrote about the character Soda, who was looking for cake? In this oddest way, like it wasn’t entertaining.
He essentially wandered the house for a paragraph (3 sentences?) and then he found it. The ending was that. So of course I give her tips to fix these issues and ask what it is. This girl, jeez, when asking her what each thing was (I was pretty confused) she goes “I dunno, figure it out” when her story isn’t even a story.
Of course I know mine wasn’t completely perfect, but we still had to grade this properly. It was a scale from 1-4, I tried as hard as I could to give her a good grade without getting in trouble for an unfair grade. I got a 3.5, I had everything on that list and exceeded the expectations, and when grading hers, she got a 2.9. Little to no conclusion, no body paragraphs essentially, no rising action, etc. I double checked with a few friends and kids in my class to make sure it was an ok score and all agreed. They read over it and were also confused.

So, I give this grades paper to the girl, explain the mistakes, etc. And she turns to me with this pissed off look on her face even though I’ve been struggling to find a story here at all. Of course I feel bad but I show her WHY it was so low. Still pissed off.

I go sit down a row or two away, and this chick turns behind her and talks smack about me. She didn’t notice I could hear them and when she did she says “It wasn’t detailed because it had to be one page” in this snotty, bratty voice.
Was her reaction ok about the situation? Was her grade an appropriate one? Or was I in the wrong?
