I'm 15 and he's 16. It started at the end of June. Loren and I used to be frenemies. I would see him once a year for a week at family camp and we would fight and were so mean to each other but we had no one else to hang out with so we always ended up playing together. When we got older, I detested him. He was obsessed with the BEAUTIFUL Thoma girls. They are like models. Three sisters. Well his family started coming to our church in January. I started hanging out with him more. It wasn't until May 25th that I thought I might like him. We went on a short trip together and we sat by each other. on the way home, he kissed me on the forehead three times when he thought I was sleeping. A week later he admitted he liked me. We weren't an official couple until we shared our first kiss at family camp on June 26th. Everyone says he's way below my league in looks and other things. But I still liked him. Now this is when the trouble begins. He is really friendly with everyone. And there is a girl named Tamlyn. She's only 13. But Loren admitted he thought she's pretty. She has a huge bubble butt. He flirted with her once in front of me. And other times has ignored me and had tons of goofy fun with her. I warned him over and over. He said he understood but he doesn't! He's friends with all of the girls he used to like on Facebook and says "We're just friends". In January he was with his friend and he basically undressed a girl over skype. Like they dared her to take off her clothes. And then two years ago he took his friend's step dad's pr0n tape and watched it. He says he regretted it. I found out all of this from his friend. Loren said he didn't want me to know and that he would have never told me. I'm sorry but a lot of people think pr0n is okay. Well, I don't. It has ruined and split my family. I can't believe some people think it is.

As I read through the many questions and answers on this site, some things make themselves clear about the writers. When people express themselves sincerely a lot of issues bubble to the surface and it makes coming to this site somewhat educational. At the same time Some of the things I've read have left me cold and sometimes shocked. Our ability to be cruel to one another is immense, sometimes to the point of being sickening. So I was inspired to ask this question in a very general way as to let us consider our experiences with our "love interests". When I say love interest It could be a spouse , lover, boyfriend, gf.or just a person you have a crush on or worship from afar Consider all!

Now assuming all of us has had at least one bad experience with some love interest whether it is cheating, neglect or whatever, ask yourself how this has affected your life over the long term. Let me try to offer some examples; Shy guys have it hard enough just being shy. The way some girls treat them makes it worse, it must be very painful. As time goes on these guys become even more withdrawn and eventually give up. The pain of their youth is enough to set the course for the rest of their lives. What a tragedy! Another example would be young girls who are naive and think there is something cool about "bad boys". Not long after the dating begins, these "bad boys" are abusing the hell out of these girls physically and emotionally. The trauma from this experience can lead to depression, loss of self esteem and worst of all a belief that this is all that is out there. It is very likely these girls will grow into cynical young women who detest men. Or, like the shy guys they will withdraw from socializing all together.

So the polling question will read like this. Would a traumatic experience with romance/relationships/dating etc. alter your social future for the BETTER or WORSE?
