My high school daughter eats out for lunch almost everyday, and thus she is able to remember a lot of faces who are not students but goes to the same places she goes to. A few months ago we moved and she thus transferred to a new school, which is also beside a mall. Of course, she eats there frequently for lunch too. Remembering the faces at this other mall, she has noticed one face that has appeared in both malls during school lunch hours, a middle-aged man who she sees about once every 3 weeks. She decided to take a picture of him eating, and sent the photo her friends from her former school, and indeed they do confirm that the same man is (still) eating lunch at the mall beside their school about once every 3 weeks. Digging further, they showed the photo of the man to their other friends from several other schools. So far her friends from 6 different schools have confirmed that they see the same man eating at fast food places next to their schools, frequenting about once every 3 weeks. All of them report him leaving line-ups that seem too long for his patience, then when he finally gets his meal, he eats it without interacting with anyone (and hardly looks at anyone because he usually reads a book while eating), though he does sit at tables beside students when the food courts are full. So all in all, they report that he is not harassing anyone, but they do find it odd that he goes to precisely the same food places that students go to across several different schools, and repeating each school once every 3 weeks too. What should be done about this? Should they inquire him about this? Should they report the man to security or to their principals?

My daughter tells me that every weekend she sees a teacher from her school in the mall beside the school, walking past her or her friends, apparently shopping around or eating. But it is known that the teacher lives almost an hour drive away from. So why does he go there every weekend? He's always alone, so it is not like he is there to visit someone. Many other students have spoken about this too. I've already informed the principal, but no word has come back, and the teacher still goes there.

Perhaps the principal does not know what to do, or is trying to figure out what to do. What should the principal do here? I do not know if the principal has even spoken to the teacher about it. Perhaps I should talk to the mall security guards and ask them to watch him carefully instead, if the principal chooses to do nothing? Ideas?

As you know, I am madly in love with one of my best friends I’ve known since we were both 3. In the recent times we saw each other we hugged more than before, took plenty of pictures, he was nicer to me than with anyone else (even his male/female friends!), and one of my best female friends asked him “What do you think about Dalia?”, he says “She’s very beautiful and super nice!”. He acted as if he had feelings for me too and it was great! He even agreed to do a plan with our mutual guy friend! My mom asked the principal to put him in class with me next year and they said yes (we go back there September 7th). As he’s coming back from his trip on September 6th, we have to do our outing on September 8th, a day after school starts. When I occasionally chatted wth him on Whatsapp, he was asking questions and was super nice to me, like our recent days. I’ve often thought of us being more than friends, to be precise, dating. One of us has to do the first move. Who should it be and why? Feel free to say, I won’t bite. If him, tell me how can I prompt it (he’s very outgoing and extroverted while I’m outgoing but introverted). If it’s me, what shall I say and do? Thank you very much <3

Back in May, I called a 'first come, first serve' apartment complex and they told me they had a vacancy. When I spoke to the woman on the phone, she said that the community was preferred to most professionals (like me since I'm a teacher) and that it wasn't 'ghetto' or 'trashy'.

Well, I walk in and everything seems normal. I fill out the application, give my paycheck stubs, and my SSN. I'm supposed to move in June 29th. I asked, too, if the current tenants can go back on their 30 day notice, and she said no because it was submitted in writing and they would have to leave.

A week later, she tells me my dog needs all her vaccines but won't tell me which ones because she 'doesn't know' so I give my dog all of them ($300 worth). Then she tells me I didn't give my employer on my application (Lies, I did, and I even emailed my previous two paycheck stubs). Then she said I didn't fill out my address (I did). Then she calls me and tells me she can't give me an exact move in date anymore because they don't know the condition of the apartment until the current tenants leave. Finally, she tells me the apartment is no longer available because the current tenants no longer want to move. She said she never said they couldn't go back on their notice and that my background check is non refundable because I 'knew the risks'.

I have a new apartment now, but my colleagues, friends, and parents believe I was denied the apartment because I was black, something she didn't know until I walked in the office. This is based on her comments as well as how I presented myself on the phone. A lot of people have mistaken me for 'white' due to my proper English (which, you know, is ridiculous) and being a teacher in a white district kind of solidifies that. Even my principals think I wasn't given the apartment because of my race.


Should I file a Fair Housing complaint against the office or leave it alone?

Hi all. As you some of you know, I am madly in love with my friend. I have been thinking nonstop about a plan to ask him out since Mid-March since I don’t want another girl to take my chance from me. I love him with all my heart, no other girl would love him and care as much as I do. I even hate working in groups in class unless he’s in my team which happened just once, the day (early February’18) I started developing those feelings even tho I’ve known him since 2005. I love with every bit of my heart.
But then, I think I came out with a plan to ask him out. He’s the class president along with another childhood friend of mine. My love is the one in charge of taking notes about what the teachers and lower-principal say about me during the trimestrial class council since last trimester (March was last council). So he called me to communicate my results. I understood my results and all. But what is my plan? Well, this time when he calls me, when we finish talking about my results, I shall say “Anyway, how about we go with M (Female) and K (male) during lunch break?”. I’m sure he’ll say yes since we’re all friends. Once we arrive there and finish lunch, I’ll isolate him a bit with me and confess my feelings and make the first move by asking him to be my boyfriend. He’s great and I’ll tell him how much I care about him and how amazing he is during my confession. *IF* he declines (it’s not likely. A mutual male and mutual female friend both think we should date. They also think he knows I love him and is extremely open-minded around me, they say he might like me too), I’ll leave him some time to think.
What do you think about the plan? Is it good? If not, please tell me what to modify. Thank you again <3
