Filipino time means being minutes to hours late compared to the standard time. It's like they have their own clock, although aware that the right time is the World Standard Time.

An excuse for arriving anywhere from 30 minutes to 3 hours late to any party, meeting, or hanging out. Only exclusive to filipinos, this is the standard time any filipino will arrive to. Many people of other races hate it, because most of them will arrive on the marked time.

It is a phrase for arriving from minutes to even hours later than the set, marked or said time. It often is said to be insulting to other cultures and races because they almost always arrive on time. This generally is because filipinos do not like being told they need to improve so they do not improve.


i personally hate it more than anything because i have a friend who's filipina and she ALWAYS shows up hours later than when she said she would. it gets on my nerves so much because i have to sit and wait for her for almost 3 hours till she actually comes when i could be doing other things for that large amount of time. she says she's on her way, but then an hour later says the same thing. i think it's pure laziness because it's not that difficult to ARRIVE ON TIME!!! plus, if she asks to hang out at a certain time, i make sure i'm on time or even 5 minutes earlier so I'm not late because i hate being late

like if you're constantly late, then say the time you'll ACTUALLY ARRIVE AT!!! not say a time, then know damn well it'll be hours later because it's very disrespectful, rude, and inconsiderate for you to arrive hours LATER than you SAID because it WASTES OTHER'S TIME!!!

do you think filipino time should come to an end? apparently it's so common that people are supposed to respect and accept it completely. i don't understand the laziness that goes on there and definitely can't believe that they think it's normal to carry this "tradition" outside of their country smh -.-
