Search Results: letting down my guard

I asked a guy out we both seem to like each other , but he was a bit weird about it. At that point i forgot about it.

Then, a month later her asked me out shyly and i was interested though a bit caught off guard bc of his earlier behavior. I genuinely had plans, so i had to tell him that.

After several weeks of hanging out with friends as we often do , I got the feeling he was still interested based on his behavior and things he said. I tend to down play signs so as not to assume wrongly, so I was not sure.

I also, wanted to make a decision as to if id move on or not as we have known each other over a year. So one day after playing chess, I asked him out. Which to me seems 100% rational.

He responded exasperated, as if i he had asked me 100 times and I kept saying no.

OR as if he had said no 100 times and i had asked him 101 times.

It does not make sense, and I do not like him insinuating i am out of line for simply asking him if he wants to hang out. I am not in a rush, I do not mind waiting but waiting -in the case he is interested, is entirely different than just wasting time-in the case he is not interested.

Why should not i ask and why should not he tell me.. I feel like i am in the twilight zone. He was perfectly friendly moments before , how can he get angry so quickly.

Some guys suggested he is angry bc i am not letting him chase me. Well, i guess if he wants a chase that is his choice and no one is forcing him to go after someone who does not want to be chased. It does not explain him getting angry. I am not into games, am i expected to change who i am?

I only asked twice and only bc he was not clear HOWEVER, I have seen guys suggest ask until you get a hard no-so you can move on with no doubt. Sounds logical. I am not against this, though it seems this is not meant for Women. We are supposed to just guess or wait or roll over and play dead until the guy says sit?

Been with my boyfriend 5 years I've seen him we've both seen each other nude a few times when having sex. I get that privacy is important in a relationship and will always respect his right to have it. He is not over weight and doesn't have any insecurities about his body. But he still goes into the bathroom to change and never wants to shower with me and also if I need to use the bathroom while he's in there he won't let me go in there he gets angry with me. We don't live together as he hasn't asked me to move in yet. So I just feel like it's his way of keeping a bit of distance between us and not fully letting his guard down. So my question is am I reading too much into it or should I just let it go?

If you met a girl who you were really attracted to but as you guys started hanging or hooking up more you realize she is really guarded emotionally, I see you as having a few options (or rather these are things I've seen or experienced):

1) End it there
2) Be clear about your intentions, see if she is on the same page and if so cool, if not then end it
3) Continue to pursue her without telling her anything, then leave whenever
4) Tell her you really like her, pursue her into more than sex to exclusivity, then relationship (she's clearly letting guard down) and leave her immediately and out of the blue

Sorry I know this is a weird question haha but the 4th just happened to me (I'm the girl) and it messed me up especially as I tried to keep it sexual without feelings in the beginning but he pushed for more and its happened before on a smaller scale with a guy who was my friend before hand (both acknowledged me being guarded).
I just can't imagine why a guy (though girls do it too) would openly acknowledge a broken person, see it as a challenge and push them to open up, when they never had any intention of sticking around. I just want to know how you guys would treat this situation and if this is normal or if I have bad luck or even if people don't realize the damage they are causing.

PS I know the mature thing to do is option 2 but seeing as none of us always choose the "right" option I want to know what you guys or girls have done in the past or think you would do --- no judgment, simply curious as I've only been on the receiving end
