Hillary's America: The Secret History Of The Democratic Party was a 2016 American political documentary film, about presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and an examination of the history of the Democratic Party, written and directed by Dinesh D'Souza and Bruce Schooley. The film had a limited release on July 15, 2016, before a wide release on July 22, 2016 and accompanies a book by D'Souza by the same name. Although the film was a box office success, professional film critics universally panned it; on Rotten Tomatoes, in spite of it having an audience review rating of 81%, film critics only gave it a 4% approval rating, and on Metacritic, critics assigned it 2/100, the 2nd all-time lowest score in the site's history. On July 23, Donald Trump, the Republican presidential nominee (and eventual victor) against Clinton, called on supporters to see the film, and in response, reviewers from The Washington Post and The New York Times described the film as politically partisan, calling for it to be banned to no avail.

It was nominated for five Golden Raspberry Awards, and yesterday, it won four Razzies, including Worst Picture, with Dinesh D'Souza named as Worst Director and Worst Actor, and the woman who played the role of Ms Clinton collecting Worst Actress. D'Souza reacted to the Golden Raspberry Awards nominations by stating that he was "actually quite honored" that "the film might have played an important role in the election", and calling the nominations "petty revenge" in response to Trump's election victory. And after winning the four Razzies, in a recorded message, D'Souza again thanked the academy, saying: "Being dissed by you guys, this is absolutely fantastic. My audience loves the fact that you hate me. The reason you are giving it to me is because you're very upset Trump won. You've never got over it, you probably never will."
