the reason he is my platonic valentines is because he is gay so he doesn't see me like that but he also agrees with the bible so he chooses to not date guys. but he does get lonely from time to time. So i asked him if he be my platonic valentines, so he wouldn't feel lonely on that day because im sure seeing what day that is he might be bum and feel lonely.

The day before yesterday, I bought a valentines gift for my close guy friend whom I have feelings for. It's supposed to arrive before valentines day. I was planning to spend valentines weekend with him, but he's gong to be out of town, so I won't be able to give him the gift until after valentines.
Should I still give it to him or cancel the order? The more I think about it, the more ridiculous I feel. I don't usually do this kind of thing. I just really like him and want him to know, but I also don't want to give him the gift after v-day and look like an idiot.
Now I feel like I'm overthinking, as usual...
I guess I feel the need to do something for him on valentines but don't want him to take it too seriously either.
He just got out of a relationship a couple of months ago, and I don't want him to feel like I expect anything from him. I just want to give him the gift to make him happy (and maybe hint at my feelings just a bit).
What should I do?
