Valentine's Day from a single's perspective

So it's that time of year again where couples are frantically shopping trying to find gifts for their significant other. Everything from chocolate to flowers to teddy bears. But what is the point of Valentine's Day for someone who is single? I don't get to share the day with my girlfriend or receive presents. The one thing that I do have is myself. Why not dedicate a whole day for yourself? Go out shopping and buy yourself something nice or go out to eat and enjoy your night. Being single doesn't mean you're unattractive. It just means you haven't found the right person yet. And the best way to find that person is to love yourself. Just in case everyone forgot Valentine's has an "I" in it. So enjoy your Valentine's Day girls and guys because you always have someone to spend it with.

I totally agree with you here. I used to be really sad on Valentines day because I never had anyone special, and even if I did that special someone wouldn't want to spend it with me.

So every year I dreaded the day and actually got really depressed and anxious over it. So last year, instead of crying and being really self-loathing like I usually do, I tried something different. I went out, got my favourite food for dinner, I got my favourite snacks, bought some new bath stuff and had a nice luxurious bath.

After the bath, I had my snacks and watched some movies. I have to say it was probably my most favourite valentines day ever.

I can honestly say that that day is really hard for some people. Especially if they suffer from depression or have just recently lost a loved one or have been struggling with their single status.

People say get over it, but it can be really hard.

I totally agree😊👌🏼 If you dont have anyone to love that day, love yourself because at the end lf the day, you only have you and only you.
