So my boyfriend and I were walking around a shop and out of the blue he mentions how I should get a coloured streak on the side of my hair. I said I like my hair colour the way it is. Then he comes back with a fake coloured hair piece and puts it against my hair to see what it would look like, he said it would suit me. I said I don't like it and I'm happy with myself the way I am, I love me the way I am to which he responded that he loves me the way I am too. So why then would he try to change something about me cause I get the feeling that is what he was trying to do. I started thinking that maybe an ex girlfriend might have had something like this and maybe he was trying to get me to look similar but then maybe that's me being silly.

actually he's an ex, but i was just wondering. my family is really unstable and my parents are always fighting. the loud slams of the door or shoutings and throwing things still scare me even though I've been living with it for very long. whenever it happens, I'll get really scared, angry and sad that my family is like this and i can't have a peaceful and happy family. when that happens, i used to always rant to my boyfriend and text him things like "my parents are fighting again". or when my mum has her mood swings and take it out on me, I'll text him things like "i hate my life". even though im not diagnosed with clinical depression, i know I've been suicidal at times and at those times, i used to text him things like "i want to kill myself" because i really needed someone for me. most of the time he tries to comfort me. but there are also many instances where he didn't say anything or totally ignored what i texted him. when that happens, i usually get really angry and scold him. i used to think it's his fault for not caring about me. but a few days ago i ranted to a guy that im dating and he told me "I'm not your therapist". so it hit me really hard. was it my fault for ranting to him? i didn't rant very often by the way, maybe twice a week. sometimes i dont tell him when shit happens. i feel that if the person i love ranted to me everyday, i wouldn't mind and i would be here for him to listen and to give him advice. but is it wrong to expect the person im with to do the same thing back?
