I just feel like people commit really quickly when they're still at a stage where they're getting to know each other. Like it's not like you're married really early on, and if you meet someone who may or may not be a better combination with you then I think you might as well get to know them on a really casual level to see whether or not that's the case. There's definitely such thing as going to far with this (i. e. spontaneous hooking up) but you might find out that this person is better or it might help you to appreciate the original person more.
