I was at the pool with some friends and I decided to go swimming as my friends were. Anyways, I have gynecomastia, so I was a little hesitant about taking my shirt off and going swimming, but I decided to anyways. My "friends" though began to make fun of me and began to make insults towards me. I felt like I was about to cry and gathered my belongings and left, without even saying a word to them. I proceeded to block them all from all of my social media. After this, I felt so bad especially because this is nothing that I can control and I also felt anger towards them. One girl that was there messaged me a few hours later apologizing for what she did and said she still wants to be friends. I responded to her text message by saying "I wish today's incident did not have to occur, but it occurred. You revealed your true colors today and there is nothing I can do to help you. I have had to suffer with this for years, you have not. A decision was made today that is out of my control. You have caused irreversible damage to our friendship. As a result, I want nothing more to do with you or anybody else that participated in what happened today."
I eventually got a few more apology messages, but never responded to them. I have been made of this before and do not feel comfortable when people make jokes about man boobs. Another thing I can no longer stand about what happened with my "friends" is that they claim they would never make fun of anyone and that they are good church going people. Anyways, am I overreacting with my "friends"?
