My boyfriend told me an old flame called him after ten years and sent him old pictures. She told him “I’m going to send you some pictures, look at them and call me back.” He then told me he thought it was odd, and asked me why would she call him if she’s happily and newly married? He looked at the pictures and called her back but it went to voicemail. The pictures were of a camping trip they took to Yellowstone while they were dating. Wondering why he shared this with me? My initial reaction was he was trying to see what my reaction would be. I thought this because I would change the conversation and he would bring it back up again. He did this 4 times. I was really cool and said she was probably wanting to catch up but he kept going back to it. Girls and Gals, what do you think?

There's this guy I met in high school who had a crush on me, I rejected/friendzoned him. He switched high school and I haven't met him until recently.
After catching up he confessed that even after these 4 years he still keeps comparing girls to me and just can't get over his feelings. He also has sunk deeper into drugs (I rejected him at the time because I'll never date someone who smokes).
I have feelings for someone else so I'm not attracted to him however, I still care as a an old friend because I know about hardships he went through.
I told him the only way for him to have me consider dating him would be quitting drugs, he answered "if that's all it takes please just wait for me".
It has been two month since our talk and I now learned by a mutual friend that he switched to soft drugs only (Idk what that means but he stopped coke).
To me I'm being a motivation for him to help himself and once he gets healthier he'll hopefully stop living in the past and give a chance to another girl as he's a really good guy.

What do you think, was this a bad idea from my part?

I am 18 and my mom is a 45 years old nurse, who is dating a successful 36 years old surgeon. They are both very in love with each other and her boyfriend proposed to her a month ago. He consider me like his daughter, and I like him the same way, but I always hear peoples around me claiming how this guy is an idiot despite being a rich doctor for marrying an older single mother , and a guy even said that If he was a successful good looking surgeon like my step-dad he would fuck girls my age everyday instead of marrying a woman like my mother, and I found that to be very gross. I admit that he’s a fit good looking guy and their age gap is quite obvious just like their love for each other, but I don’t understand why are peoples so angry! What piss me off is that ALL my friends are acting surprised when they meet them and they keep telling how the heck did my mother seduced my step-dad which I find to be insulting, it’s insulting right? Are they just jealous?
