Back in mid October, I decided to go out of my comfort zone and I added and messaged this really cute girl on Facebook I went to high school with, but never talked to. Anyway, we actually got talking and we started getting along pretty good.
She did live 2 hours away, because of school, so we didn't get together, but we talked more and more and she said she was interested in a relationship. I offered to come up to see her on my nights off, but she had night classes those nights, so I never could.
Anyway, she and I started making plans for her winter break. She had expressed interest in us starting to have sex and meeting parents while she was down here. I changed my schedule to make maximize my I'm with her. Going into the first date we were very excited and I really liked her, I got her a rose and everything, even went to find her favorite hot chocolate for our date.
But she asked to go home because of a migraine and said she wasn't fully over her ex and needed time. She said she thought she'd be fine until our plans became real.
For a few weeks we barely talked, and she'd ask me how I got over my last girlfriend. But lately, I felt I was trying to convince her she should be over her ex and stop ignoring the person who's trying to be in her life.
The other day I sent her a message, saying that I felt I was trying to convince her rather than help the situation. I told her hopefully when things change she'll reach out to me, and I'll be her for her. She said she didn't feel I was doing that, and she appreciates that.
It's been a few days since, and she hasn't said anything to me. I also found her Instagram, and she portrayed herself as a conservative quiet person, but she has a lot of revealing pictures on Instagram, which I guess is the norm now, but a lot of pictures for attention, in my opinion. She also still has a photo of her and the ex on there. I got more upset when I saw the pictures of her doing our plans, but whether she was with family or someone else I don't know.

When I first met my girlfriend I was 16 years old at the very end of high school, and she was 17, but I looked slightly older than her.

At first I only began talking to her because she was a hot, slim and fit blonde with slightly tanned skin who often wore relatively revealing clothes. But soon enough, I began to see she was more than just a typical hot girl. She was kind, and had a lot of sympathy towards others. She was also pretty smart, tackling on 7 AP classes at once, and getting A's and B's in all of them. We also had common interests, such as action and adventure shows and movies, books, video games, anime, swimming, and soccer.

Now fast forward to the now... I'm 21, and she's 22, and we're both through with college, have our own jobs, and live in the same house together.

Naturally, since I began to see her so much I thought it'd get boring. But no, I only grew even closer to her. And thus, began to find her more physically attractive, too.

Sure, our relationship isn't as "puppy love sweet" as it used to be. Now we're more straightforward about things, and point out literally everything... both good and bad about each other. And we do argue pretty often, too.

But it's not out of hate, though. It's more of a roundabout way to say we love each other without being super nice and sappy all the time. More like playful banter, if you will. And almost every time after it happens we're hugging and kissing again in no time anyways.

It may not be the fantasy people dream of when they think of relationships, but that's why it's good... it's real. We can accept we're not perfect.
