So im not a smoker but my boyfriend and his family are. When it comes to just my partner smoking when its just the two of us he's pretty good with it, i stay my distance he stays away from me/ sometimes ask if he can smoke and he doesn't smoke as much.

When it comes to being over to his house , they've opened windows and have fans going.. its a small place. Its hard for me to leave the situation when they are talking to me mid conversation and they light one up. Even when im not in the same room as they are sometimes i still smell it really badly. I dont like the smell of it/ hard to breathe sometimes.

Im not trying to change him or his family but i personally think the person shouldn't be smoking infront of a non smoker especially in a small place. Find ways around it. It just seems like the family isn't trying hard enough. I dont want to end the relationship because of this.

Hi everyone. My boyfriend (ex now) & I were dating for 7 years & on Monday of this week he decided to break up w/ me. We have been in a tough spot for about 3 in a half weeks however we’ve still continued to work things through together. Sometime beginning of last week we got into a bit of an argument & my cousin (she lives w/ me) overheard some of the argument & I guess in a way to come to my “defense” she said to my boyfriend “I hope you get coronavirus & die”. A few moments passed he called me to express how her saying that made him feel & he said that he’s now uncomfortable being w/ me because of what she said to him. He continued to say that “if she can say that about me what will she say about my family”. Of course him saying he’s now uncomfortable being w/ me didn’t sit well w/ me however I apologized to him on her behalf & said to him that what she said was wrong & I would never wish that. He said that it’s not my fault & there’s nothing I should be sorry for and after that I asked him if he really felt uncomfortable being with me and he said yes. He hasn’t spoken to me for about 3 days and I texted him and said he needs to give me some answers on how we can move forward. He said that what my cousin said aggravated him, he doesn’t want to be bothered by me, and he’d rather remove himself from the “situation” and he broke up with me. We’ve been together for 7 years & I just can’t believe he would throw it all away because of that. I respect his feelings and understand that what my cousin said he didn’t like but to break up with me for it? To hurt me for it? I don't know. I would never break up w/ him over something like that simply because I wouldn’t necessarily let someone who has absolutely nothing to do w/ our relationship influence my decision to stay/leave. I thought our love, our bond, was stronger than that especially considering everything we’ve been through. I am so heartbroken. Am I wrong for thinking his decision to break up with me is ridiculous?
