We all have lives. If you are alive and breathing then you have a life. Why do people care so much about how others spend their time on this earth? If i want to stay inside my house all day, work out in my room and just use the internet and listen to music or read why shouldn't i be able to? Why should i be called a "no lifer" just because i have hardly any friends and i never to to parties or social events? I don't have a boyfriend either never had one but i'm sure one day i will have one, i'm not ugly and i would say i'm a nice person. I have social anxiety and i hate being around big crowds of people. Even my parents comment on my lifestyle choice and say i should do something with my life. My sister says i'm lame too. I do have a job. And i'm take singing lessons and i'm learning to play instruments because i love music and want to pursue a career in it so don't tell me i have no goals or dreams. I just wish people would stay out of others lives and let them do what they please..

Your parents may have taken you to work one day, and then on that day, you get inspired by what your parents do for a living and decide that you want to go into this field. Because your parents have the money, they send you to college, paying wholly or partially for your tuition. That is influence.

Your parents may discourage you from pursuing certain fields, like psychology or music, or may push you to excel in math and science so that you may pursue engineering or medicine. That is influence.

Your parents may be financially well-off enough to pay your whole tuition, so you walk out of a prestigious college debt-free. Or, your parents may be wealthy, but intentionally do not pay for your full tuition, believing that you have to work for that. Explain how your parents assisted you financially or socially.
